elohim 2,768
Hi, guys! I'm going for the first time to Japan. I'm hella excited and lost. Gonna spent 18 days there and what I know for sure is that I'm going to visit is Tokyo, we gonna land and depart from there,Kyoto,Nara and Hiroshima as of now. I still have a lot of places to think about and to see if it fits in my pocket. Please, also rec me good places to stay that aren't too expensive! I'm going with my bf and we wish for some privacy at the places we stay to rest, but no need for luxury! Thank you ~

It seems like you have chosen your destinations well, based on what little I know of Kyoto, Hiroshima and Nara.

demasta 23,252
I've never been there, but since you're going to Kyoto and Nara, you might as well go to Osaka too.
swagger 10,332
If Tokyo then a must is Tokyo Tower or Skytree... or both idk what else you are into... visiting onsen seems to be a thing but it's not my thing. I'm more of a nightlife person. Ironically my first meal and visit in Japan was going to Koreatown oh.. btw... July... it's gonna be kind of hot. bring light clothing... Ant 1,694
That was an awesome itinerary. I'm certainly going to most of these places! If you have some recommendations of places to stay, I appreciate!thank you very much! I used Airbnb mostly, its cheap and very reliable. The hosts were really helpful for me who's a non Japanese speaker and they also provided pocket Wifi's which is a must have item when travelling there. And if your willing to spend more money i highly recommend staying at Hilton in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo. The concierge staff was really skillful and helpful, and spoke fluent English. They provided me with probably the best overseas stay overall. Feel free to ask me more questions!
mochichan 12,341
You could stop by maid cafes just for experiences if you want but it's not worth it imo. It's kinda cringe to experienced it in person... There are owl/cat cafes in tokyo are more fun. Shopping places are like Shibuya 109, Ginza, Kagurazaka, Harajuku. Asakusa got alot of traditional site seeing places like temples and stuffs. Nara is really good for those too. There are even wild deers. Oviously Akiba for anime stuffs. Oh you should go tour Edo Castle in Tokyo
