http://onehallyu.com/topic/457849-bangtanbuzz-bts-donation-of-100-million-won-to-416-family-council/

bangtanbuzz.jpg
BTS and their agency Big Hit Entertainment have donated 100 million won (T/N: ~$100,000 USD) to "416 Family Council" (T/N: this is their shortened name, but they also go by "4/16 Sewol Families for Truth and a Safer Society".)

The members of the group BTS and their agency Big Hit Entertainment have donated 100 million won to 416 Family Council, a recent family council composed of bereaved families affected by the Sewol ferry disaster. The 7 members of BTS donated 70 million won (T/N: ~$70,000 USD), with each member having donated 10 million won (T/N: ~$10,000 USD), and their agency having added 30 million won (T/N: ~$30,000 USD), for a total donation of 10 million won (T/N: ~$100,000 USD).

It is truly meaningful that BTS acted on their beliefs and donated a large amount of money to the bereaved families, despite the circumstances in which names of artists associated with the Sewol ferry disaster have appeared on a blacklist, giving those artists a disadvantage. Prior to this, fans of BTS had donated relief supplies to Jindo county at the time of the Sewol ferry disaster. Both the artist and the fans are continuing their warm acts in many ways.

In particular, BTS did not disclose the fact that they donated, as they believe that donations should be done quietly. It has also become known that BTS had decided to donate with the hopes that they would comfort the bereaved families affected by the Sewol ferry disaster and help these families, even a little bit. Therefore, they had agreed to not inform the media about their donation.

Meanwhile, BTS will begin their full-fledged world tour on the upcoming February 18th and 19th, starting with the 'WINGS Tour Seoul Concert' at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, Seoul

[+6305, -174] They did a good deed *clap clap clap*

[+4975, -144] Wow, they're cool. They're worthy of receiving praise.

[+4685, -163] I'm not their fan, but they're cool....

[+4329, -127] They're doing good things. I hope they prosper.

[+3890, -129] Even their hearts are pretty T

[+1427, -35] Their song that alludes to the current state of affairs, their award acceptance speech, and especially their donation towards the Sewol ferry disaster - they really are a group that's worthy of receiving respect.

[+1308, -29] I'm a middle school teacher. To me, Shinee seems like a rookie, and I don't know very well who the idols these days are T but BTS is a group that's truly popular among female students nowadays. I hope they will be a group that does more good deeds like this and shows their upright attitudes, being a positive influence on children^^

[+1288, -28] They're a group that has proper character. Even if you make a lot of money, it would be difficult to make a donation like this one ..I hope they'll win a daesang* this year. Fighting*!
*T/N: 'Daesang/대ìƒ' means "grand prize" in Korean. It's usually "Artist of the Year" and/or "Album of the Year".

[+1171, -20] As expected, they're thoughtful idols. The boys volunteered at an orphanage, donated quietly, and again this time, they've done a commendable deed.

[+1145, -33] I'm always proud of the fact that I'm an ARMY

[+1006, -30] To be honest, these friends....I don't like them and I only know a few of their songs, but I know that they're not from a big agency, so it's amazing that they've grown this big. They've done a cool deed. (T/N: Just so there's no misinterpretation of this comment, the commenter wrote "I don't like them", NOT "I dislike them". They probably meant that they aren't emotionally attached to BTS.)

[+988, -25] BTS are geniuses that have skills, looks, talent, and character!!

[+922, -10] It's really not an easy thing to donate 10 million won (T/N: ~$10,000 USD) each.. they're amazing

[+918, -18] That's cool of them. I'll keep cheering you on!

Credits.

they always get me so emotional. having been with them since the beginning, seeing everything they've been through, knowing how hard they've had it, i just always get so emotional about them. the fact that they're so genuine doesn't help either.

a fandom name is not about the fandom, it is about the group.

You stan the group, you stream, you buy, you follow=you are in the fandom...whether you admit it or not, whether you interact with the other people in the fandom or not, whether you like the fandom or not

period

I'm still waiting for my DVD to com in, but boy those ending ments from the Epilogue concert really get to me. It's sweet when Jimin moves aside to thank the members one by one, and you can see them getting choked up immediately. 2016 was a truly great year for them in realizing several of their dreams. I only hope 2017 can be as kind to them.

BTS it's the gift that will never stop giving.

Discovering them was one of the most amazing things that have ever happened to me. And supporting/stanning them, one of the greatest desicions I've ever made.

Being an ARMY it's a bless, not a shame.

One of reasons why being a fan of BTS is always worth it. To actually encounter with haters on internet, generalized and labeled as immature, annoying, loud, etc etc annonymously on internet.

Being an ARMY is really a fun and enjoyable journey on my kpop interest. No regret. BTS themselves is worth all the bullshits.
