okay. I didn't post anything on the forums yesterday because I was just being emotional alone in my room. 2ne1 is one of the first acts I started following when I first got into kpop, and my opinion of them fluctuated a lot along the years, mostly due to the way their careers were being handled by yg.

 

that being said, I tried hard to look at goodbye just as that; them at least trying not to go back on their promise of a comeback, and a farewell to blackjacks. I did cry when they brought bom in, and I have it on repeat right now as I'm typing this. I originally planned to just make a thread to thank blackjacks for being an awesome fandom, but... of course this had to get messy with that cl interview that just got published.

 

it's so so so sad that yg's still trying to shift the blame around. like, they disbanded already; people are sad and have given up on getting any semblance of a legitimate reason for just ending them like that. but yg ent is not pleased; they want you to know exactly why 2ne1 disbanded, which is, of course, because of minzy and park bom.

 

 i'm sorry but if it was a letter to minzy, why did she have to find out about it from the press? wasn't the song also originally for cl's american album? I'm pretty sure she'd have been done working on it before minzy left, so this all doesn't add up. I'm not trying to blame cl at all; this is obviously yg throwing minzy under the bus one last time, right next to putting the disbandment on bom's back.

 

so now these girls, both not under yg anymore, are also gonna be ripped apart by knetz over this new fodder. it's not like they needed a new reason, anyway; lots of people were already hating on minzy for 'betraying' 2ne1 and we all know how koreans feel about bom, but by all means, do add more fuel to the fire, yg ent.

 

then, of course, they have to bring it back to cl's solo almost instantly, in an interview about 2ne1's disbandment. trying to pass off her actual debut as not being an 'official song' yet again, because it didn't chart the way they wanted it to for something that's been in the works for years now, when lifted was touted as the american debut left and right and they rode on that billboard position for god knows how many interviews. please.

 

this isn't even a bash towards cl, because the way i see it right now, she might as well be a hostage under yg. in the past everyone was rooting for their faves to be succesful because getting all kills meant that there was no chance for them to get the boot, but 2ne1 disbanding in the blink of an eye when they were still one of the most popular groups of all time is, after all, a warning. nothing's ever guaranteed.

 

so now of course cl could come out and spill the tea in support of her former bandmates, at the risk of yg dropping her solo album that she's been working on for two years just like he scrapped the last 2ne1 album. lol

 

I know this is a big sappy theorycrafting thread like many we've seen today, and it might be silly to be sad about people that I've never seen/met, but I am. it's dumb and ridiculous and sad that we ended up here for no reason at all. I guess what I never touched on was blackjacks; thank you for being such a cool and open minded fandom. even though I started out as a sone, the 2ne1 threads were always the most active and the most fun to hang out in and spazz over the girls. I met lots of cool blackjacks all around the world and I'm grateful to still call a lot of them friends even today, so I won't be looking back at 2ne1 with too much regret. just waiting for that fire comeback stage

YG better make CL happen in America then. Anyone with a bran can see that this interview opens up plot holes, and so I hope that the death of 2NE1 means something to that company.

I'm an outsider on this, but the way they are treating Minzy is so disrespectful. She was part of the team for years and finished her contract naturally and went to seek more opportunities for herself. Regardless of anything, they should treat her with some respect, gratefulness and professionalism.

FYI, Minzy is ex-YG artist with the worst after exit relationship in public's eye. I said public's eye because we don't know if they are privately still in contact or not but by social media or interview or anything public she never mentioned 2NE1 or anything YG related ever since her departure, not even when 2NE1 disbanded.

 

And I am shocked that some BJ are still thinking that 2NE1 or CL must tell Minzy beforehand because CL said she write this song as a letter to Minzy. That is super normal to not informing Minzy, why? Because it's CL's feeling when Minzy left. Have you ever heard that a singer tell her ex that she/he write a song about him/her?

 

Lastly, what's wrong with YG including Minzy in Teaser & MV? YG has the right for the photos & videos. I find it a bit not convincing that Minzy knowing this from news because in SK the use of someone image after the contract ends is still need the person consent or the agency so if YG's law team is not f*cked up (which i doubt) the they must be discussing this with Minzy & her agency. If they don't then Minzy can sue them for it.

 

Some people (including me) said that YG is doing a decent job for at least not acting like Minzy is never be part of 2NE1 by including her in MV but some of you must be saying "then why YG didn't include them on the song?". NO ONE KNOW about this, not everything Minzy said is the truth. it is possible that she refused to participate. then why she said that she is don't know about this song??? Because everything she said in public will affect her career. It maybe her agency move because Korean never interested of her, when she left there are only few interview for her (and none after that) but hundreds for YG & 2NE1, everything 2NE1 related news on Naver the comment section rarely mentioned her (she only mentioned on Nate for the use of bashing 2NE1 or YG). This is her 1st time mentioning 2NE1 after she left & also right after her 1st activity announced so it is very possible to be a business related comment.
