Like Taiwan and China, Korea should introduce the idol drama genre

In Taiwan and China, there is a genre of dramas specifically called "idol dramas" meaning it's a genre idols freely participated in.

Example of idol dramas that hit it big:

Meteor Garden (which produced Asia's top boyband F4 and had then girlband members as female leads. Barbie Xu was a member of ASOS and Rainie Yang was part of 4inLove)

My MVP Sweetheart (which produced 5566 and Angela Zhang)

Westside Story (which launched singers Wallace Huo and Cyndi Wang. YES! Wallace Huo used to be a singer!)

Prince Turns to Frog (featuring 183 Club and 7Flower members)

Hana Kimi (launched Fahrenheit)

Reach for the Stars (S.H.E)

Hi! Working Girl! (Jolin Tsai and then boyband member of ROMEO Show Luo)

All these dramas brought upon the golden age of Taiwanese dramas. The idols sing the OSTs of the dramas as well so it becomes multiple promotion.

If Korea implements this, it would allow the idols to have acting opportunities without ruffling the feathers of acting elitists.

LMAO THROWBACK @ WALLACE HUO WHEN HE WAS AN IDOL

Meteor Garden is the Taiwanese adaptation of the Japanese anime/manga series Hana Yori Dango, though...same with Hana Kimi.

And To The Beautiful You was pretty much an idol drama but it got criticized for its poor writing compared to the Japanese and mediocre acting.

But the whole main cast was made up of idols - the Japanese one wasn't. Only Jun was the idol in that adaptation.

Even Hana Kimi had people like Wu Zun, Danson Tang, Ella...all idols.

but that still doesn't mean that HYD and its adaptation along with Hana Kimi and its adaptations are necessarily idol dramas--Taiwan just happened to cast idols for them.
