They started off as a duo anyway but apparently wanted to keep the trio thing going and just took the most random and easiest way. I mean, EXID did make Solji a new member and she was their vocal teacher, but there's a difference between making your group's vocal teacher a member of the group and practically making your producer a member of your group. Hopefully, the truth about why she was removed will come out one day, but very unlikely...
