Tee 9,628 Posted January 17, 2017 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Copy-pasted from my profile. How I got into Kpop: I saw SHINee's Juliette back in 2009 after looking up some stuff about Corbin Bleu. Didn't know what Kpop was or whatever, but I downloaded/ripped the song and for more than a year it was the only Korean song in my library. I might've seen Ring Ding Dong as well, but no. I also saw Wonder Girls when they were on Wendy Williams' show whenever that was, but I was still pretty oblivious to Kpop. In summer of 2010, a friend of mine posted Gee on Facebook. I thought it was cute and whatnot. They also posted 2NE1's Go Away after that came out. In September of that year, someone's avatar on Last.fm caught my eye and I asked what it came from (Moon Ji Eun's Hibiye Hibiyo). The song grew on me and then I got addicted to it (my "first Kpop addiction" as I call it). My interest also grew then. After I found out that it was Korean, I showed it to my friend. Then in a class that we had together, we talked a little bit and she asked me if I had seen any more 2NE1 (which I hadn't). And then I wanted to listen other boygroups so I searched for them . That's how I found Big Bang, SHINee, Suju, Beast, TVXQ and 2AM (in 2010). After seeing this I started looking up the Artists(ok mostly BoA). I gave kpop another chance. One day, I noticed that she was drawing something so I asked her who that was. She told me about Girls Generation and that she was drawing one of the members. She also told me to listen to one of their songs so that's exactly what I did. The first song I listened to was Oh! by SNSD and I was hooked afterwards. Then she played Cypher Pt. 3: KILLER for me, and I quickly became garbage. I had no idea what KPop was, beyond the basic definition, and had a negative mindset of what the music was like. Thats the start I really took interest for kpop. side note : kdrama is booming first in my country way before kpop wave. One of my classmates (who is now a really good friend of mine) had recently moved from Korea to the US. She didn't have any friends and couldn't really speak English so a friend and I started to hang out with her and helped her learn English. I am hottest aghase monbeb 51 Posted January 18, 2017 Share Posted January 18, 2017 YouTube forced into it by having a video of jackson and youngji bickerin and jackson saying he has hight complex for like a week and I didn't even watch any asian at that time weird anyway I thought he was realy funny and watched the rest of roommate and I saw an episode of jackson fangirling about got7 on TV to the song stop stop it.so j watched thought it was catchy and then I found sistar touch ma body and aoa like a cat.and those three songs and roommate were all I knew bout kpop but I realy got into it when taecyeon visited roommate and thought he was realy hot and like how he and jackson seemed close and he spoke english I found out he was from 2pm which jackson mantioned several times before which sparked my interest with this "2pm".I found 2pm A.D.T.O.Y and cbwyhts and got addicted 2 songs and 2pm become my 1st bais group and hold a realy special place.also cuz of their old shows I spent lot of time learning bout 2nd generation kpop Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
