Lmao I can't help but cringe every time. I think his character is very serious, which makes it funnier.

I'm currently working on levelling up my children units, and I desperately need more girls. I only have two girls rn.  The rest are all guys. Here's hoping Subaki and Hinoka have a girl... really should have checked the Wiki first.

I hope you have Oboro on your team, she's the best non royal female unit in Hoshido imo. She's also my fave character from the game and yes Subaki has a daughter and she's the one who looks exactly like Cordelia

Yas.  I loved Cordelia. And yes I hitched her up with Hinata. I have to say, Kana, Midori, Sophie and Kiragi are the cutest so far. I like Dwyer too since he's pretty quirky lol.

Ehh I don't really use the kids much at all except for Kana and whatever other child I get with who I marry. I have finally bought Conquest and Birthright (holding out on revelations until I finish both...) now that school is done and I can devote stupid amounts of time breeding mega death children in a video game...

 

 

Currently on my run of Conquest I'm on Sakura's chapter... (haven't started birthright yet because I've heard it's a slog of rout the enemy maps unlike conquest... so I really should have started with it instead. oh well.)

 

I'm proud of myself for having stayed almost completely spoiler free! Except for the same-sex marriage options in the game.

 

I did an obligatory S rank w/ my male avatar to Niles because I'm of that persuasion, but... I'm disappointed... and i wish I made a Female avatar to marry either Benny or Keaton tho cuz they're too cute. :C

Or married a female character but I'm kind of underwhelmed with Nohr's lady options.

 

Anyway I'm having more fun with Conquest than I ever did with Awakening... but imagine my disappointment when I found out Corrin's every bit as incompetent as Chrom was... if not more so... and some of his decisions are just straight up cringe... like literally it's annoying when this character is supposed to represent me (or at least the main character of this story) and he doesn't even seem to comprehend his own motivation for fighting.

 

Plot rant:

 

Granted I'm not through the main story of Conquest yet, but I cannot believe some of Corrin's writing. YEah, I'll side with Nohr as "true family" but really? Seeking attention from your sweet father who sent you on a suicide mission then attempted to kill you... then continuing to do his missions that you're morally against, while just being content to subvert him a little by not killing anyone and crying when someone dies.... like... ugh. no.The dude is literally shown that Garon is a goopy monster thing and by chapter 22 literally seems to have no drive to do anything about that.. yea...

 

 

Also my fave units to use are Leo & Odin (Dark knight bros 4 lyfe). I got tomefaire and tome breaker on Leo through the my castle thingy... I didn't really know what I was doing when I managed to get tomefaire but I'm glad I did cuz now he kills all the mages. Leo is my only unit so far aside from my avatar who I've gotten extra skills on through My Castle, though because I felt like it was too cheap.

Felicia is fun, too, and suprisingly holds her own with the flaming shuriken. Elise as well because she seems to have insane magic growths, but she's also about as frail as an.. ant... she'd probably be a liability if she didn't have good enough speed to not get doubled by enemies.

Haven't done any reclassing for anyone yet.

Yeah, and just the way Kana/Morgan is always so loving towards your avatar like you're their hero

 

 

I married Keaton in my Conquest play through and he is pretty funny haha. I also like his daughter even though she is a bit creepy in her supports with him. And yeah, I'm not too impressed with Nohr's marriage options for females. And yesss Leo and Odin are great mages! They just take some time to get to a good level. My favorite mages to use are Ophelia and Nyx (who's the most OP of mages if you level her up a lot).

 

I actually feel like the only person in the fandom who doesn't dislike Corrin I don't mind that I don't get many options to choose what to say/do tbh. Corrin can be utterly dumb and incompetent at times but I don't think they're a terrible character. I think it shows they're only human and not unrealistically perfect. Although, I do think the whole shtick of Corrin suddenly becoming this great leader of an army out of no where with no military experience or knowledge beforehand to be rather forced and dumb. But that's just my opinion

I don't think Corrin's an awful character but I wish they wrote Corrin to be a bit more charming like Chrom/Lucina were at least. It's like they went the Robin route of giving us a kind of blank slate character without really giving us another charismatic main character or two (Chrom & Lucina) who you're fighting with. Corrin's more of a standalone lord character for me, so I think they should have given him a bit more personality aside from being a pacifist I guess. I do really like the sibling characters at least, which does make up for it a bitttt

 

Typically I love mages ( I gave my Corrin a buff to his magic stat, too and I was REALLY happy when I promoted him and I could use tomes because I was at like chapter 17 and still no levin sword... so I was feeling like I made a huge mistake)

My fire emblem philosophy is kind of "If you're not on a horse you'd better be a mage"

Though I find Camilla's axes more useful than her magic.

 

I benched Nyx pretty fast because she made me reset like 3 times... She's kind of like Tharja and Miriel in Awakening where their magic hits like a truck but they can't take a hit themselves. (Tharja definitely payed off more, though. Dat Nosferatu.) I'll probably give Nyx a go in my hard playthrough :P I mean I'm making Elise work for me with her 6 defense... but I tend to keep her out of danger because of her staff utility

Yeah, Chrom and even Lucina have way more charm than Corrin. I get that Corrin's been in a sealed off in a fortress or whatever his/her entire life so I don't expect him/her to be a super outgoing or interesting, but I feel like they could have done way more with his/her character. I think maybe in the next game they should have 2 modes you can play in, one in which you have/follow your avatar, and one in which there is no avatar and you play as the lord instead. 

 

I'm more a sword kind of person loll. My teams always consist of at least half the team being sword users. Mages and Pegasus/Falcon/Wyvern riders are a close second.Honestly I hate how they made the Levin sword in Fates. If you use it I think it has like a -20 or -30 and any weapon that does that much of a toll on a unit's avoid isn't worth it to me 

 

It seems most of the fandom always benches Nyx since she's so weak. However, the work you put into her really pays off a lot tbh. And oh man I tried using Miriel like twice and I just couldn't. Tharja is way better but isn't as good as Ricken, Morgan, Henry, or Robin. Buuut I still always have her in my team lmao.

I like some of the combat changes, especially the dual guard/strike where it actually IS a tradeoff between pairing up and not in this game unlike in awakening where you're crazy not to double up characters. And the enemy side can do it too!

 

I just like the mobility of mounted units :P

Serena (Hero cuz Sol > Horse in this case. Plus I always made Severa a hero in Awakening)

Xander (I wasn't going to use him cuz his stats are too good and Siegfried is OP.. I like a challenge.. but it felt wrong using his siblings without him and he helped me beat that stupid tunnel level)

Charlotte (Berserker; no horse :( )

Felicia (No horse)

Keaton (who needs a horse when you're a wolfssegner?)

Ignatius (Great Knight; horse)

Velouria (Wolfssegner)

 

I didn't like Beruka enough to use her despite being a mounted/flying unit. Peri's also on a horse but I can't think of a unit I like less in this entire game so far.

 

I haven't recruited Xander's kid, but he's on a horse so I don't know what I'm holding out for :P

I'd replace his ma Charlotte w/ him, but Charlotte's axes are really helpful against ninjas who are EASILY THE WORST UNITS TO FACE IN MASS QUANTITIES. Then again I can promote him to Great Knight and use axes with him.

 

Speaking of I love the offspring seals so the kids aren't so far behind the parents in this game.

 

 

 

It seems like there's a lot of fliers on the Hoshido side so I'll enjoy thatttt

 

But yea the changes to magic and silver weapons... not a fan. I know it was mostly to balance out getting rid of weapon durability, but it just makes it so using anything more than Iron isn't as worth it. Steel is alright if you have a unit fast enough that they can still double with them

Levin's nerf is kind of disappointing though because that was my favorite weapon to forge and put on my avatar and Morgan :P

With the ridiculous skill combos available it killed errrrrything. Plus now it can't crit either so I might as well just use a tome.

 

I used Miriel in a playthrough once... nightmare.

I really had to baby her in order to keep her useful and had her paired with either Kellam or Frederick in order to make sure she could actually take a hit... eventually I had to DLC grind with her to get her to a lvl 15 dark knight with lifetaker so she could actually keep up... Really strong attacking unit, but in a game like Fire Emblem where the enemy phase is just as, if not more important, I can't just rely on her husbando to always save her from being hit/critted/whatever.

I always preferred using Henry or Ricken as my mage. Especially Henry. He's such a good unit~

Yeah although I really love that they got rid of durability, that also made it so that you don't even wanna use half the weapons available since they toned a lot of them down and changed it all up. Hopefully they fix that all up in the next game. 

 

Yikes, the only times I ever use Miriel is when I need to romance her with someone to get her kid. Even then I just use the male unit paired up with her in combat rather than her. For mages I always just used Robin, Morgan, Tharja, and Ricken. I didn't really start to use Henry until my 3rd play through when I realized he's one of the best mages lol. 

 

I'm also liking these off-spring seals, but since they usually bring the child units up 2 levels before they cap it's kinda lame too :|

 

Beruka's a good unit, I just neglected to use her a lot in my game so she was weak in every battle loll. I don't know if Peri's a good unit but her character is enough to make me never want to use her. Xander's kid is... well it's not just his mullet that ruins him for me, but he's just so dull and he has no character to him, so I never use him either. 

 

 

 

I can't remember if this was my exact team in Nohr, but my usual team was something along the lines of:

I wouldn't mind if they rebalanced the weapons again even if it meant bringing durability back. I do NOT miss weapon weight at ALL but durability felt like it was adding some level of depth, or at the very least discouraging the constant use of the strong regalia weapons (like in Shadow Dragon, the game that brought me into the series overall, I cannot think of a single time where I've used Minerva's Hauteclere, Gradivus, Parthia or Mercurius for all of their uses. Rapiers and Wing spears yes, but those were less precious...)

 

I think things like Silver Weapons were over-compensated for. Like give them a slightly lesser hit rate, or give that to steels and do the -speed thing for Silver so they double less or something. Somehow it's just less rewarding I suppose to just forge better iron weapons lol. 

 

Oh also I miss Wind Magic especially since fliers tend to have good RES.

 

I just recruited Siegbert... he is boring :C ....but great knight tho

Sacred Stones is up on Gamestop's website for $20 so I bought that shit as quickly as I could idk if it's always been on their website but apparently they're selling a lot of old GBA and DS games for cheap now. Sadly SS is the only old Fire Emblem game on their website that's selling for cheap. If you wanna buy it or any other game use CAG16 to get %16 off your purchase

 

RIP my gameplay of SS I was playing on a browser until it crashed and lost all my data. At least I'll have a hardcopy of it now bless

Yeah this would be my first time having a physical FE game that isn't for the 3DS haha. And aw, I'm sorry about that :[ At least you're still able to buy them tho~ 

 

I didn't realize there was still stuff to do after the game ended. I'll be looking forward to that~ I love Ephraim but I love Eirika just a little bit more  I chose her path on the emulator I was using and I loved almost all the characters I recruited. My favorites so far (character-wise) are Joshua, Eirika, Seth, and L'Arachel. Can't wait to start playing the game and using them again
