From what I heard, previous FE games were a lot harder. They made this one a lot easier to get more people into the series (for example, characters normally die permanently, but in this one they made it so they can come back after the battle if you want them to) and added some features to get people interested. I'm not doing too badly and I'm a noob, too. \o/

I paired Nowi with Kellam in my first playthrough I married her to Gregor lol that was even worse

 

oh I don't remember whether the support conversations were different when Female!Avatar was her mother or not. I remember the support being entertaining when the Avatar isn't her mum as Lucina keeps on accusing her of having an affair with Chrom while the Avatar is 99% done with her bullshit I think I just married Libra off to Lissa because I didn't really care about Owain I found his support with Olivia amusing though. Cordelia is my fav character, but I felt so bad for Severa ={ she seemed so obsessed with Chrom that she neglected Severa

 

Chrom is blind not to see who the true best girl is.

 

Hmm but Cordelia implies that she fought for Severa. I think Severa just assumed her mother sacrificed herself for Chrom, because of her inferiority complex (and I guess since Cordelia's love for Chrom was no secret). Which seems to come from comparisons to Cordelia, from the supports I've read with Libra (I made Libra her father). I get the feeling Severa's issues stem from losing her mother as well as the constant comparisons to her, since she feels like she'll never be good enough.

 

I wish Cordelia x Chrom supports could happen. I remember trying to make them support each other in the beginning until I realised it was impossible.

It's the first I played so it will always have a special place in my heart. Loved the stories and the gameplay. People have issues with the characters because it was one of the first FF games to implement voice acting, which is always slightly dodgy lol. But I loved it, great experience. Listen to the OST Soundtrack if you can, one of my favourites from all games. I'll PM you it if you want.

 

Oh, I'm used to slightly dodgy voice acting so it probably won't bother me too much lol. And yes, send me the OSTs please! I love listening to OSTs.

 

Speaking of OSTs, do any of you have a favourite Fire Emblem OST? I was listening to Fire Emblem: Awakening OSTs while playing JM's mafia game and I really liked this one:

 

 

 

I'm really like FE3 despite the fact one of the main character's just died and said main character's wife married his enemy .-. but the story is complex and I'm really enjoying it. I recommend it despite the cringeworthy art! Has anyone here played Corpse Party, The Witch's House or Dangan Ronpa?

I haven't played Dangan Ronpa, but I watched the anime. Is the art style similar to that? Lmao I think this playthrough is the random pairings one tbh, besides Chrom x Sumia which is incredibly predictable and boring. I basically forgot to make Chrom support anyone and made him support Sumia last minute so he wouldn't end up marrying some generic village girl.  I'm playing as female next time so I'm looking forward to seeing boy!Morgan. 

 

I've seen some people say FF7 is the best one, or was it FF6? I don't remember. Which one is your favourite? And I added your friend code, too! ^^ Sorry I took so long, I haven't played on my 3DS for a couple of days.

 

IDK, some conversations made it seems like she was too busy spending time with Chrom that she didn't neglected Severa, just cause she fought to save her in the end, it doesn't mean that she wasn't also too hung-up on Chrom.

 

But yeah, she prob also had an inferiority complex.

 

I get why there was no Cordelia x Chrom supports, it's meant to be a representation of unrequited love, it'd prob sting even more if Sumia, her best friend got married to Chrom, which is who I married Chrom too in my first playthrough lol

 

Yeah. Cordelia was destined to have her love unreturned fro the start. Poor Cordelia. I got Sumia married to Chrom, too. But tbh I find Sumia incredibly bland and boring. I'll probably have the Avatar or Olivia marry Chrom next time.

well i just said it keke when they created the game they got rid of easy and normal mode

 

they swapped around what in past games was hard now in this one was normal, lunatic mode was hard renamed to hard in this one and lunatic mode is now out of your mind new super hard

 

also some of these battles per example have you fighting against an entire army of laguz which are beasts they basically all have 50+ of life and shit. also this game is divided in sections so some of example you get to play with some army in chapter 1 a new army in 2 another new in chapter 3 so when you get to the last of chapter 3 you recover the first army but they are weak since you stopped playing with them after chapter 1. and dont get me started in the last chapters the ones where the enemies have the blessing of the goddess and are super strong

 

you can read reviewsof the game everywhere and they will tell you this is the hardest fire emblem game by far, even if have player before and are into strategy this can still be challenging

 

i think easy mode is normal but who is going to play in easy no thx

basically in this game they remaned the level of difficulty

 

so easy is normal,normal is hard,hard if lunatic and lunatic is a new super hard. also this game has fighting humans against entire armies of laguz and at the end the armies are blessed by the goddess making them much stronger

 

overall this is by far the most diffcult game tbh, even experienced players find it difficult

Oh wow, okay. So they amped up the hardness for each mode, and made an all time new level of difficulty for lunatic mode?  I guess I'm going to have to replay FE:Awakening and FE7 a few times before I start that one.

I've heard she's a Mary Sue lmao but I like her character design. Who's Ilyana? I love the look of the laguz though, especially the wolves your sig is beautiful by the way

 

 

My favorite Fire Emblem OST is this–I teared up at this part because I get emotional easily lol

 

 

ooh you watch anime as well? What are some of your favorites? tbqh the anime did not do the game justice–I didn't like the anime at all because my expectations were quite high after the game. I recommend the game–it's so good and Chihiro I love Fukawa, Kyoko, Togami and Celestia as well. The art style is similar to the anime though I preferred the game's tbh ~

 

Sumia bores the life out of me. She's so... generic. omg we had the exact same problem I usually just pair Chrom with Olivia because she produces the best Lucina imo. yess anticipate Boy!Morgan he's such a cutie

 

I love both those titles but FF 7 is my favorite as it's the first I've played lol. I have a fondness for some of the characters as well though 6 comes quite close. don't worry about it haha x 

I don't think I'm at that part in the game yet (or maybe I have? Is it the Emmeryn part? If so I cried during that part even though I knew it was coming.   I get emotional easily, too.), but I listened to it and liked it a lot, too.

About anime:

 

 

Yeah I remember a lot of people who played the DR game said they were disappointed in the anime and even dropped it. Tbh I'm sure it was nowhere near as bad as some visual novel anime adaptations. They never do them justice, I don't know why.

 

I like a lot of anime but I have to admit I have a thing for Shounen types. One Piece is my all time favourite manga, though the anime doesn't do it justice like most animes, especially in recent years. I love Hunter x Hunter, FMA:Brotherhood, Durarara!!, Kuroshitsuji (more the manga tbh. the anime veers away from the manga pretty early on and is nowhere as good), D.Gray-man, No.6. Hmm, I like a lot of anime tbh. Though I haven't watched as much the past couple of years. Recent anime that I have really liked is Haikyuu!!. Sports anime always give me feels.  If we're talking about manga I also have to mention Onepunch Man. I love that manga. How about you?

 

 

Generic is the perfect word to describe Sumia lol. I thought it was cute at first since she had a crush on Chrom but she's so very... boring. Her supports are some of the most stale imo. I got bored of her quickly. What about Olivia makes the best Lucina in your opinion? I have a soft spot for Lucina and want to make her boss in my next playthrough. 

 

Oh, ok. That's interesting. Maybe I'll play FF7 with an emulator.

It's right after the part where Emmeryn sacrifices herself and they fight against Mustafa. Oh my god Mustafa I felt so bad running a lance through him Fire Emblem Awakening has really nice OSTs, if you want I'll PM you another game OST I really like as I don't want to spam the thread ^^

 

 

 

The game was really really good which was why a lot of people were expecting a lot more. Did you watch all the episodes of DR? Yes I feel so bad for visual novel adaptations, SAO was such a waste of time after a while and it's a pity as the concept was so interesting. 

 

I feel Tokyo Ghoul is a great example of an anime not doing the manga justice. The ending to that manga was just.. and I really like Hunter x Hunter and Durarara!! as well! Some of the anime I like or liked were Ouran (classic tbh), Puella Madoka Magi, Shingeki no Kyojin, Magi, Death Note, Kill la Kill, Steins;Gate and some more. I watched Fruits Basket but I found some of the cast annoying though it was cute. What did you think of Free! lol

 

 

 

She bored me as well though I like her supports with Henry. They make me laugh because Henry is insane and doesn't really give a fuck about anything. I love Henry, I feel he's quite complex despite his..more colorful moments and is perfect for Ricken Olivia makes a great Lucina because she becomes a very powerful physical lead as an Assassin with Luna, Galeforce, Dual Strike + etc. She also makes a great Sniper and Dark Flier ~

 

yes definitely play it! Final Fantasy is a great series, you won't regret it.

 

Omg, that part made me cry. I played this mafia based on the game so I knew she sacrificed herself at some point, but that didn't stop me from tearing up.   I chose to not sacrifice her, and yet she still sacrificed herself. I wonder what happens if you choose to sacrifice her... I could never do that, though, because Chrom would never sacrifice his sister. I still felt a lot of pressure making that decision though lol. I teared up when Lucina reveals who she is to Chrom, too. I feel like there are some more tears coming up soon. And same, I felt bad about fighting Mustafa. And then there were his men who wanted to flee but stayed by his side. /feels And yeah, feel free to PM me any nice OSTs. ^^ I enjoy listening to them.

 

 

Yeah, i watched all of the episodes. I found the concept of the story interesting, but the games seem better from what I've heard.

 

Oh yeah, that's why I didn't bother watching Tokyo Ghoul. A couple of episodes in, I saw so many complaints from manga readers lol. I like a lot of the animes you mentioned e.g. Shingeki no Kyojin, Madoka Magica, Death Note and Magi. We have pretty similar taste.  I only watched the first season of Free! and it was nice for what it was. How about you?

 

 

I hope I get more of a chance to use Henry next time since he did interest me a lot. Are there any characters you didn't get a chance to use much  on your first playthrough? What do you think of the Avatar as Lucina's mother? I feel like marrying the Avatar to Chrom next time, but I'm also leaning towards Olivia.

There was actually this DLC Map called Summer Scramble, where she could talk to Mirirel, and for the first time in the game I found her actually funny and interesting, but only there and only because Sumia was actually acting the way she was because of Mirirel's dilusions under heat stroke.

Yeah, that was my problem with her. She's really two dimensional.

ah did the mafia get you interested in Fire Emblem? the part where you just watch her fall made me tear up a little bit but it was the music that really did me in haha. The bond between the siblings is sweet, though watching Chrom fall apart after her death was a little hard even though he's not one of my favourite characters. hmm I don't recall tearing up anytime after except for the chapters towards the ending. Mustafa was one of the only likeable generals to be, I took pride in killing Excellus off.

 

 

 

Who are your favourite characters in DR? Mine are Chihiro (I was so upset when died), Fukawa, Togami and Celestia. Leo's death in the beginning looked painful though he could have saved himself by not going after her. I love Tokyo Ghoul's opening though, that song is so good ooh who are your favourite characters in Shingeki no Kyojin and Madoka Magica? Do you think Armin is a girl lmao and we have good taste I watched it for the cute one with blonde hair but I got bored relatively fast and then stopped. Have you seen Kill la Kill? I'm going to start Fullmetal Alchemist soon as one of my friends is outraged I've never watched it. Any thoughts on it?

 

 

 

 

Henry makes a very good DarkFlier!Cynthia imo so I paired him with Sumia in my playthrough. Sumia isn't as boring in their supports as she usually is so it was entertaining. I kind of abandoned the parents after I got the children but I forgot to pair Maribelle up thus I didn't get to play Bradley at all. I also neglected Sully, Virion and Lissa throughout the game–what about you? If I was optimising I would pair the Avatar up with a second gen character to get the most out of Morgan but I feel Lucina doesn't need the Avatar's paths as much as the other children. However it adds a nice dimension to the story so if you're playing for the plot go for it! I really like Olivia!Lucina as an assassin though, she could take down an entire army of Risen easily. 

I've been wanting to play FE:Awakening for a long time, but never got around to it since I had other games to finish. But yeah, the mafia made me interested enough to want to play it right away.  That part where she's falling is so heartbreaking. Emmeryn is the real MVP.  Really, she's has such a beautiful character, inside and out. And then Chrom and Lissa being there to witness. it. 

 

Lmao I happily killed off Excellus, too. His personality is as ugly as his character design. I mean, even his allies hated him.

 

 

I don't remember who my favourite was in DR. I remember loving Junko at the end, though. And Sakura is a bae. ;-; My faves in SnK are Levi and Armin, I think. I love the Shiganshina trio in general. How about you? FMA is love, FMA is life. If you're going with the anime, watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The original one ended before the manga did, so it has an alternate second half, and isn't as good in general imo. The manga is the best out of the three, but Brotherhood sticks much more closely to it. I'm sure you'll love, it's a great series!

 

 

Ah ok. I might just marry the Avatar to Chrom next, then. I'll try marrying Olivia to Chrom on my third playthrough. I neglected a lot of characters this time so I actually haven't met a lot of the children. I'll have to make sure I correct that next time.

Also, I was just playing SSB4 yesterday as Lucina, I love how bitchy she is to the other FE cast, when she beats Ike she's all like "And they call YOU the Radiant Hero?" and when she beats Marth she's like "THIS is the hero king?" And the (female) Robin is just as bitchy to her "How can you protect Chrom if you can't even protect yourself?"

I did a system update on my 3DS and managed to get my save file for FE:Awakening back somehow. ?_?

 

I guess I can find out the ending sooner than I thought.

 

On another note, on my new playthrough, I got Chrom and the Avatar married. Their supports were so hilarious.

The more I hear about If, the more excited I am to play.

 

 

• New information about Fire Emblem: if
• The developers wanted to make a game which took the Arran/Samson choice from FE1 to its extreme
• Nohr version has more mission types (defend, break through the enemy, etc)
• The two versions share about 1/6 of the story, the remaining 5/6 plays out differently depending on the version
• If you download the alternate route you can use a save copy at chapter 5 and choose the other route without replaying the opening chapters
• The third route has a difficulty level midway between Hoshido and Nohr
• You'll be able to lower the difficulty in the middle of the game if you find Nohr too hard.

I'm so glad to hear that both versions will be mostly original content. That's basically 3 new FE games (Hoshido, Nohr, and the DLC) instead of just 1. Also, yay for more mission types. Awakening had too many simplistic "kill all the bad guys" missions.

 

Congrats on the wedding! They're probably the most popular pairing in addition to Chrom x Sumia and Avatar x Lucina. I think the developers knew they would be so they put extra effort in making their supports more enjoyable.

 

 

I made Avatar x Lucina and Chrom x Sumia support each other in my first playthrough. Sumia is okay, I just find her very two dimensional. She doesn't seem to have much going for her besides the clumsy thing. So I found a lot of her supports boring.

On the official Japanese website, the box art for the games has been updated to include the amiibo logo indicating that they will have amiibo functionality.

Note, Marth and Lucina are already confirmed for unlockable DLC through trading card game codes. So maybe the amiibo are an alternate way to unlock those characters? Or they could be for other bonuses like items or weapons.

To be fair, Sumia has 2 things going for her (clumsy and loves animals) whereas some other characters are even more 1-Dimensional - like I mentioned earlier with Gaius' candy obsession or Miriel's nerdiness.    Too bad I seldom used Sumia because I'm horrible at managing Pegasus Knights. They're useful for moving far across the map quickly but they die too easily.

I have all the TLoZ amiibo, but I haven't gotten any FE amiibo since I only played Awakening. I'll be sure to pre-order Lucina and Robin, though.

 

I actually never played with Miriel. And Gaius was endearing in a way, though I agree his candy obsession got boring pretty quickly.

 

I tried to get most of my female characters to get galeforce to pass on to their children, so I think I got pretty good with handling flying classes. I'd make note of all enemy units with bows and make sure they either stayed clear of their range or attacked them before they could attack my pegasus knights/dark fliers etc. Or sometimes I'd use them to carry another character where I needed, and then switch the characters so they would be safe from any bows. That was pretty useful for missions like Twin Wyverns in Awakening, where you need your units to travel really far but there were a lot of enemy units with bows.

I got into FE:Awaking thanks to JM's mafia game. My role was Avatar, and it's still the coolest role I've ever gotten in a mafia.

 

Anyway, the game really made me interested in playing and I bought it a few days later. I still haven't gotten round to playing PoR, but I want to play that next. I'm not sure who my favourite male and female characters are for Awakening. There are quite a few that I really like for each gender.
