Do you believe Pedophilia is a sexuality?

I know threads have been created today on the subject of pedophilia and I was curious when people were like don't treat it as a sexuality or "don't compare it to homosexuality".  Well I believe it is like Homosexuality as it is a sexuality just like Heterosexuality, Bisexuality and Asexuality, however as the children are not developed enough to consent and understand sexual relations it is wrong for pedophiles to act on there urges. I feel pity for them as they will always be rejected for something that is out of their control, and trying to change your sexuality has shown to have disastrous psychological affects and proven ineffective, the only thing one can do is repress.

What i don't get is why people want to refer Males/Females who are sexually attracted to young boys or girls who haven't gone through puberty yet to homosexuality?

I take offense to that as a gay  male as it equates me to a disgusting and vile ABUSER lol.

 

As a psych major, the key difference between Pedophilia and other deviant things such as bestiality are not comparable to Homosexuality as in most cases, a person does not choose their sexuality. A child does not know whether they or gay or straight from birth or early childhood. It is as that child grows and matures and begins to notice difference in females and males that they begin to discover their own sexuality.

 

It's why i laugh when people say people choose to be gay or gays can simply choose to be straight if they wanted to do...it does not work that way(In most cases).

 

Pedophilia is a choice, just like bestiality...just like people who are into BDSM or what have you. People who have a desire to spanked, choked, demeaned or degraded.....People in cuckold marriages who enjoy watching their husband or wife engage with other people and never with them.

BDSM is not a sexuality...it's a sexual deviance....just like Pedophilia. it is a need for a sexual fetish to be fulfilled, in this case...dominating or "deflowering" a pure child as children are virgins and thus innocent.
