Tricks to lower anxiety?

take deep breaths. your brain needs oxygen when u are anxious.

if that doesnt help go check the special doctor for homeopathy. there are usually special pills that can help you with it.

at the end of the day- its all in your head. if your brain is certain that the pills will help you- they will. if your brain accepts that you can help yourself with taking deep breaths and saying to yourself "im fine"- u gonna be fine

power of human brain.

I suffer from severe anxiety myself so I know a couple of tricks but the most effective was a natural medication called ValeriCalm (it's made with Valerian) (like not those that you get from the pharmacy with a doctor's prescription), it's a liquid that you put in a glass of water every evening or before going to bed and it does wonders to relieve your anxiety and it even helps you to sleep if you suffer from insomnia.

For quicker tricks though, I eat some herbs like basil to help me feel less nauseous (my anxiety is related to emetophobia) and chewing on something helps me a loooot. I also drink hot water with some lemon juice in it and it warms up my body and calms down my stress. I take long and nice walks outside and tell myself some positive comments (I keep repeating it even if I don't really believe in them, it's just better to focus on that then let yourself be submerged by the anxiety's negativity). You really have to direct your thoughts elsewhere, and sometimes it can only work if you do it by yourself (like tbh ASMR doesn't work for me for that reason, I get super stressed because of the person's voice or sounds that they make).

I had a massive episode in November and I thought I was going to die. I ended up on 2 anti-psychotics as well as my normal antidepressants.

I suggest going to your doctor and ask for 1 week worth of benzos, it will take the edge off while you recover. Ask them about suitable anti-anxiety/depressants for you. Do something you enjoy to take your mind off the anxiety, mine was watching movies and sleeping. Ask a friend to come over and keep you company. Do some breathing exercises (this was the hardest for me, but it works). See if you can pick up some Rescue Remedy from a pharmacy too, it's a natural thing that helps as well (depending on the person though). Go for a walk or take a hot bath/shower.

This will take time to recover from, it took me 3 weeks. but it did get better and I am about 95% normal again.

I really don't know maybe you just need therapy or doing something relaxing like yoga. In the meantime just try to concentrate on positive things and watch or listen to stuff you like or could relax you.

I just have a really stressful schedule and my motivation has reached a new low so I get stressed out and I've always had intense negative responses to stress ever since I was a child. It usually doesn't stay for more than 2-3 days though so I never really took medication for my SAD but now it feels like it turned into a GAD and idk wtf to do

For ASMR it took me time but I can only handle 2-3 artists and it's when they do specific sounds so yeah lol I often watch the same videos

I've actually tried to do something I enjoy, and I also tried drinking then I went at a friend's place and hung out with a couple more over the week but it can't seem to do the trick. I feel this is just a real bad episode and I can't stop being on edge.

You shouldn't drink when you have high anxiety, it will heighten it. I know it's a terrible feeling but it will eventually go away, you just have to give yourself time to recover. You should definitely talk to a doctor when you can.

You need some vacations then or take free days if possible, also reading some of the posts many concur in breathing exercises. Honestly I don't handle stress too well also I'm kind of mentally impatient and space out a lot to cope with it but in your place I would feel like wanting to run out and escape.

I rarely have the time to go but I'll try to tomorrow night because it's been a week and I just can't seem to calm down and lost 8 pounds

I feel you, though I end up gaining weight instead of losing.  I run a business so no time for me either, but I had a really bad episode a few months ago and my aunt dragged me to my family doctor.  It took some time but I think it worked for the most part.  I started feeling a bit better, that being said I had my first anxiety attack in front of people today thanks to my dear dad setting me off.  So back to feeling like shit for a while for me, can't wait to face the public.
