Being a dog lover, this just sucks... i just hope they are putting them down humanely and not just shooting them up or poisoning them T_T

They are the cheapest methods along with hanging so I think these are going to be the most likely ways. After all the very fact this is being done indicates the people behind it don't care so why should they care whether it is "humane" or not.

I like dogs but I can't really blame them

People are really attached to dogs but they are animals bottom-line

It's like the deer problem we had here earlier, too many vehicle accidents if the deer population gets too big

Even though I love my dog, I am grateful that there aren't stray dogs where I live

Stray dogs are a threat; it's sensible to do something about it, and placing them in shelters isn't a likely option. Questioning barbaric methods is reasonable (although the article doesn't seem to be clear on the methods used), but some of you sound like you think the dogs should be left alone. :wth:

Better to leave them alone, than kill them for a stupid reason

What's next, the killing of all the homeless people because they're too dirty?

That was the Beijing Olympics.

Where people were forced out of their homes to build the stadiums and buildings needed to run the Olympics and not given anywhere else as a replacement.

In my country we have a serious problem with them too (a child was killed by stray dogs a few months ago and there was a huge controversy then about how to fix the situation) and it has been decided to put them down but I don't know how they'll do it. I don't want them to suffer either but we can't have them on the streets attacking people...

It's a shame that they need a big event like the Olympics to do something about it, but the dogs being a danger to human beings isn't exactly a stupid reason.

These dogs aren't any different than other animal that become threats when they come too close to human settlements, except that unlike many wild animals, dogs aren't likely to be extinct any time soon.

Tbh if people weren't so fucking irresponsible and abandoning their dogs cos they don't want them anymore/over breeding them, we wouldn't have such a problem and strays wouldn't be seen as a threat.

Who's the girl on your sig?
