170112-1: Fans of EXO’s D.O. and Do Kyungsoo began a warm-hearted procession of donations for his 25th birthday.

 

After D.O. confessed that just the gift of his fans’ hearts would be enough to make him happy on his 25th birthday*, members of his fan union chose to make donations to share their happiness instead of overwhelm him with gifts.

The union also declared their congratulations through commemorative advertisements, together with their donations.

D.O.’s fan union sponsored the advertisements to respond with love to D.O., who constantly prioritized his fans’ happiness, with the message “all the world’s happiness to you.†The union’s representative stated, “We chose to make meaningful donations after fully understanding what Do Kyungsoo meant by being happy with just the gift of fans’ hearts. We hope to share warmth with many others for his birthday.â€

For D.O.’s party stated, “D.O. often wishes happiness for everyone. We prepared this donation to help realize his wish, even if only a little. This donation is not just for D.O. or his fans. We hope it has greater meaning and brings greater happiness to our neighbors.â€

Last December, D.O. had posted to EXO’s official homepage that he would have to respectfully decline future presents from fans. “I’d been accepting all your dear and treasured gifts up until now, but it would always be that I can never make full use of them, for which I am deeply apologetic,†he wrote. “I would be really happy to just be given the gift of your heart instead.â€

Habitat for Humanity Korea’s representative stated, “We hope that the news of donations being made to celebrate D.O., who has been working earnestly as both singer and actor, brings energy to his life. We will put the amount sent us to good use in improving residential areas in the country, so that more families can dream of comfortable homes.â€
