chihaya 419 Posted January 13, 2017 Share Posted January 13, 2017 This is coming from someone who watched them even at the early years of their career and who went back & forth stanning them, I been more a Jaejoong & Junsu fan for some time now though (once you read more, it becomes more obvious lol..since I wrote the most about Jaejoong & Junsu) and not much a Bigbang fan for some time now so many things must have changed, but I would say I watched & followed them enough to post my personal opinion on this question Bigbang are dorky. Db5k are amusingly funny. Seungri is funny with words, witty and sometimes snarky. Great Mc and seems like his naturally a good seasoned variety show star/variety show mc. Daesung is more body gags, I do find his variety show sense really contrived but it works for Korea or Asia in general. That's their kind of comedy. Jaejoong is a combo of Top & Seungri but better lol (but not often) He is dorky, random, weird, both with body gags & words. But not often because unlike Seungri he didn't/doesn't looks out for opportunity to be funny. He isn't thriving for it as much as Seungri. Seungri more attentive for an opportunity to be funny. Jaejoong doesn't. It just happens randomly and when it does, it's satisfyingly funny. Compare to Top, both are dorky and express it physically but Jaejoong is clumsy as hell. I don't think Top is as clumsy as Jaejoong lol. Since his block from variety shows, Jaejoong hasn't made much iconic funny moments compare to his Db5k days. It's such a waste smh. Junsu is endearingly adorable and hilarious, but his mostly funny when it's with others because the whole thing with junsu is that people point out or react to his character since he doesn't purposely try to be funny or be dorky. Junsu is naturally adorable and at times funny but his straightforward with things and barely intentionally try to be funny or dorky so most would just take it as it is but when his with his members/close friends they notice his quirks, his mistakes, his unique mannerism, his natural aegyo (so much aegyo) and make the situation automatically funny. Junsu has a different perceptive of himself lol. Changmin is kinda similar to Seungri (probably also cuz they have the maknae similarity) but Changmin much more snarky, much more lol. He was much more funny in Db5k days because his childish/elementary kids comedic relationship with Jaejoong & Junsu. Yunho is too calm for Changmin's snarky evil childish side to come out. Yoochun & Gdragon make the atmosphere better. They react the best and it just makes it better. Gdragon more cuter & dorkier though, I like the way he tells stories. He can be really expressive and it's just cute. Yoochun reacts well and it's too the points it makes shit more funny, he was never the butt of the joke. It was always Junsu but he often initiate shit and say funny little remarks/opinions here & there and react well to the joke but Gd is naturally more cuter though, in my opinion. Taeyang & Yunho are usually the least funniest in my personal opinion. It's not a bad thing. Taeyang is either too hyper or calm. Yunho is calm too and the thing that's probably funny with these two is how fans makes fun of them. I find Yunho cringey at times lol. His members don't really point it out. I can only think of that one time Yoochun calmly started talking about Yunho sleeping habits with Yoo Jae Suk and out of nowhere Jaejoong suddenly blurted out "Really it's embarrassing!" (sounds a lot more funnier in Korean though lol) Overall Bigbang just dorky. Db5k more amusing but Bigbang are better Mc? or just more attentive/opportunist(?..idk) for comedy. So I think you'll get more funny dorky moments with Bigbang even if most are just lighthearted okay jokes. With Db5k it's was either there really funny when shit happens or there just charming/cute but overall wouldn't get much as Bigbang since Dbsk wasn't conscious or wasn't always deliberately trying to be funny as much as Bigbang. The best "mcing" or variety sense in Dbsk was probably Jaejoong and Yoochun but Yoochun's tend to be always Junsu related so idk if that would be a good or bad thing. Jaejoong way into his own little world to be as good as Seungri & Daesung. Db5k also repeated jokes too much and jokes that weren't even funny in the beginning. It's just preference but I find Db5k more funnier, It's more my style. I still watch old videos of theirs and it never gets old. IMO There variety show sense was just a lot more effortless, natural and it was charming, cute yet really hilarious. not all the time cuz there not intentionally thriving for comedy compare to BB but when it happened, it's precious. The repeated jokes probably the only thing I can think of right now that was contrived about Dbsk comedic skill(?) So I guess Bigbang had/has better variety show sense. I love watching old Big Bang variety because Top and Daesang crack me up!
