What does your job have to offer their employees in terms of perks/benefits? Oh and I am not talking about 401k, health insurance etc...

For me its the following:

  • unlimited starbucks
  • comp room if someone has back to back shift
  • free meals- breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • huge discounts for hotel accommodation within the franchise
  • Discounts for family & friends

I am a conference host in one of the most famous hotels in my country. The hotel is also part of a big hotel chain, also this chain includes clothing stores, makeup stores and just basically any kind of stores.

If I buy my stuff from these stores, I will get a huge discount of everything because they think of me as ''staff''

Also I can stay basically free of charge in these other hotels around my country which are included to the chain

And sometimes they give us expensive christmas gifts like shoes or something to use at work.

- free popcorn

- free drinks/icees as long as we bring our own cups

- free unlimited movies

- discounted concession stuff if we are on the job (aka on break)

i'd rather unlimited starbucks and free meals though tf

I take advantage of that as much as I can. Not so crazy about the meals though. I don't like how they cook. There is a cook for the guests who prepares the breakfast menu and the dinner menu and there is also a cook for the staff who cooks the lunch for all of us.

What hotel do you work for if you don't mind me asking.

If I plan on going somewhere and staying over at a hotel within the franchise I get a room for the employee rate per night which is $79. Sometimes I can even get it for $39 a night.

The hotel chain is called Sokos Hotels. And yeah, sometimes I can also get a room for $40 but sometimes it's also free for us, which is great.

Btw Lisa Vanderpump is awesome.

Oh nice, I work at one of the Marriott hotels here in NYC. Its an airport hotel so its crazy busy and I always manage to meet the weirdest and the craziest people. The things I've seen and the things I've heard I wish I could erase from my memory.

Oh, that sounds amazing, although yeah it must be sooo busy over there. Are you a receptionist?

No, front desk is not for me. I'm a housekeeping manager, I prefer the back of the house operations rather than front of the house. Although I am always on the floors interacting with guests. Its a pretty big hotel, 6 floors and we have almost 400 rooms. Being an airport property and having different airline crews come in to spend the night you become friendly with them because its pretty much the same faces that you see almost every single day.

Oh, I see! Well, you have a lot of managing to do then, since the hotel is huge! And it must be fun too. You can stay active the whole day but also talk with guests!

The hotel where I work was made in year 1832, and we also have over 400 rooms and 7 floors! Some of the places are a bit spooky because you can definitely see and feel the old vibe.
