I felt so bad for Lee Dong Wook during the second season of Roommate after he talked about how he was in a slump during 2014. I'm really happy he's on the rise now, he deserves it!

I loved him in Roommate, I used to have a bad image of him prior to this show (felt he was a bit stand off-ish) but the show made me rethink that by seeing how warm and dorky he could be. Really appreciated how he could mesh well even with the younger people in the show, and he wasn't the type to push the whole "I'm your senior" thing I feel with a lot of more experienced celebs.

I felt he was expecting a lot with his reunion with Lee Dahae in Hotel King but that show didn't click. And Blade Man was..lol. My Girl was his last project that was legit relevant, sadly. Maybe Scent of a Woman but that was more of a sleeper hit.

You know who he reminds me of? Yoon Shi Yoon. He had that big hit with Baker King Kim Tak Goo, but eventually fizzled off by choosing less impactful projects. Like Lee Junki (who was second lead in My Girl) eventually rose to become a bigger star than Lee Dong Wook (by scoring more successful projects), Joo won (second lead in Baker King Kim Tak Goo) also became a bigger star than Yoon Shi Yoon.

I think that's a pretty apt comparison actually. It's funny how these things work out, but I guess actors just have to nab the right roles. I honestly never expected LDW to rise up like this, especially considering how long it's been since My Girl. Goes to show you how you shouldn't just give up and stop trying I suppose.

I feel Lee Dong Wook's persistence to clinch the Grim Reaper role was inversely proportional to how Hyun Bin avoided the Kill Me Heal Me role - imagine how Hyun Bin would have cemented his status if he just accepted that drama.

Somehow hoping Yoon Si Yoon will eventually have his Lee Dong Wook moment and score a great opportunity as well.

I haven't really been keeping up with things, but didn't Lee Junki rise despite his dramas. I haven't heard of anything big that he has been in that Korea has raved about. So I thought he became big because he's such a good actor although his dramas weren't big hits. His acting abilities are undeniable. I hope he finds a project that hits big soon.  :)

Oh he was huge pre-enlistment. Like mentioned, he was second lead in My Girl which was a trend drama. He became a breakout star when King and the Clown became a huge box office hit (I still recall that year - Lee Jun Ki everywhere like how you see Song Joong Ki this year). His dramas after King and the Clown all did well, most especially Time Between Dog and Wolf it had a lot of buzz even while filming.

Jun Ki just lost a lot of his luster after many of his dramas weren't as successful and newer actors scored hit dramas. :) Kind of a cycle of life thing, but he had his time.
