Sometimes when i go on naver and want to watch some video i get this:

According to the request of the right holder,
the clip is not available in your country.

Why would you even bother to go through the process of making some video not available in some country?

I saw it many times that fans from different countries around the world complain they cant watch some video on naver or even youtube because they made it not available in some countries.

whats exactly point of that.

nothing is copyrighted for me and i live on the other side of the world lol

plus u can just use VPN these days everyone has it

i am not from germany but i heard it happened a lot fans from gemany cant watch something.

i dont exactly have a problem with it since it happened very rare that i cant watch some video but even when it happens i find a way.

i just dont get it, the point of not being availabe somewhere.

Its Copyright. Shows/Clips are not always for free.

A channel makes a show to make money. The clip you want to watch for free on youtube/naver is actually a product that costs money to produce. The company / TV channel that makes the show wants money. The Show/Clip is a product they want to sell. So sometimes they dont want people to have free access to their show (product).

For example: You are KBS. You post your shows on the official KBS youtube channel. Now you sell one of your shows to an American TV station and make money with it. You sold the product to them, so now you block the show on your youtube channel for all Americans. Thats because someone in USA bought it and you no longer want Americans to get the show for free.

Another reason might be that it is forbidden to show something in a country.

For example: Russia has a law against something. That something happens in your show. So you need to block that show from Russian Viewers, or you get into trouble with Russian Law.

I think the easiest explaination is: Any show/ Any video is a product and its not automatically for free.

That makes sense to me (or at least in my country) cuz I know some cable channel of my country bought exclusive copyright of some Kdramas and u can only watch subs/dubs in that channels. All other illegal free subs uploaded online got blocked right away! The safer choice for those illegal subs is to make it only available in certain region, so not as many ppl can access.

SBS always blocks their content from japan.

i assume they air a good portion of their content on japanese TV, but i don't know because i don't pay for any channels that show kpop/kdramas.

i hate SBS though for their shit quality content, so maybe it's more of a blessing in disguise.

I'm not 100% sure on this but if I remember correctly, YouTube blocking things has something to do with the fact that the company might not agree with YouTube Red and not all countries have YouTube Red so they only show the MVs in YT Red-less countries.
