I'm a film student and I'm so out of touch of these films omg

well if you're a film student, you probably can't afford to go out for movies that often considering the price of movies these days, lol. though, i do believe there are student discounts offered if you thoroughly search for deals...

with that said, you probably don't have to see all the big films. but i, of course, would recommend la la land if you love the old, nostalgic hollywood films.

Manchester By The Sea, Divines (sooooo gooood #ShamelessFrenchShilling), GoT, and Atlanta better win that bitch.

I'm so over award season this year though because I know The VVitch (+other indies) is gonna be snobbed and I'm not here for this.

Yeah, that's not untrue.  :rlytearpls: I see about 16 films a month + netflix, amazon, etc. anyway so I'm not super hung up on it.

Considering Whiplash is one of my favourite films out there, I think I'm gonna head to see it tomorrow. *clap emoji*

After watching it tonight, I reallyyyy want Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig to host next year. They were hilarious omfg

and la la land sets a record with 7...7 WINS!!!

I was honestly surprised. I've never intended to watch the movie, but I might actually do so after seeing all the wins it got. It must be good

The only win I question is The Crown like really, I've watched and it's alright but that should have went to Westworld

I entirely expected the award to go to Westworld tbh (even though I also loved Stranger Things)
I haven't finished The Crown (still on ep 3 lmao) yet, but based on the first 3 episodes, I'm not super blown away by it. Maybe my mind will change once I finish it tho  :imstupid:

Also, I really wanted Riz Ahmed to win with his role in The Night Of. I thought he did amazing. I've never watched The Night Manager, but they seemed to have pulled a lot of wins, so I guess I have a new show to try out and watch.

Yeah I would've expected Westworld or Stranger Things and possibly Game of Thrones but The Crown was remotely as good as the other shows tbh and watched all episodes and found it alright but compared to those listed its only slightly better than This Is Us.

The Night of was really good and I agree it would've nice if he won but I feel like everyone on the list would've been fine to win too.

Fallon was a terrible host, he seem out of it by the end, at least amy and tina had their funny monologue

I'm dying to see moonlight, I wish it was screened here :(

I haven't watched la la land yet but I enjoyed Gosling AT LOT in the nice guys, so that was a deserve win in my book.

I think it's well acted and well written but the plot isn't terribly exciting, if you know what I mean.....maybe it's because I've watched too many documentaries that it doesn't move me anymore
