Technically didn't 'EXO' debuted in 2013?

It was EXO-M & EXO-K(the 6 members subgroup/project group) which debuted in April, 2012 and later in June 2013 the whole group debuted in the name of EXO.

I think this is why many people in Korea thinks EXO debuted in 2013.

I also saw many rankings that don't add up EXO-K and EXO-M achievements together with EXO.

For instance,

Most wins on Music shows history is ranked in the following way

1. SNSD: 100 wins

2. Bigbang: 80 wins

3. EXO: 77 wins( they don't add the 10 wins from EXO-K to make it 87)

Even when you go to gaon, they count EXO and EXO-K&M sales as different artists

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaon_Album_Chart

When you go to melon, they count EXO's debut as 2013.06.03

In a technical sense, EXO-M and EXO-K are separate artists from EXO, which is why their achievements/sales etc are never added to EXO's as a full group~ But the members themselves did debut in 2012 even if they never came together as EXO until 2013~

I saw that point,I just pointed out another reason why they might be associated as someone who debuted in 2013.

It could be a few dates. I guess it could be either 2011 or 2013 technically... Honestly, I just stick with 2012. 2011 was the introduction to them 2012 was the intro to them separately and 2013 was them as a whole doing music shows... so it can be either way

I am saying if they count EXO's  debut as 2012, why not count the achievements of the group that actually debuted in 2012

They performed on New Year's Eve. So technically, that's their debut.

Does a performance really count as a debut though? Didn't NCT members put on shows and performances together when they were still trainees? But they don't officially debut until the unit they're in releases a song.

Because I think the fact that they're under a separate name artist name "EXO-K/EXO-M" means that they can't technically combine them to the name "EXO".

Like I'm pretty sure they add all the achievements of EXO-K and EXO-M together amongst themselves like total albums sold would be MAMA + Overdose for each. But they can't count them with EXO because it's released under another name.

Nope. They started promoting title tracks as 12 but the b-sides were still K and M versions with 6 members. And in Exodus 4 members for M version. So if you wanna base it on that then Love Me Right was their debut.

I think it's going off by title tracks .... Wolf was the first Title with all 12 on both versions

There were songs on albums before LMR that weren't just OT6~ Like The Star on MID has Kris and Baeksoo on both versions~

question so when EXO has their next Mini ... Do you think they will be an EXO Mini since K and M is dead i guess ... This will be EXO's actual first Mini album WOW

3 albums and 1 Mini ... Technically

IDK, because all their minis before now have been M and K, so it seems it will most likely be under EXO~

Though SM still has M and K on their sites and updates them for each comeback, I doubt they'll just do a XiuChenLay album, realistically~
