Idk about you, but I just find it weird that people still resort to calling RV a "rookie" after already being in the industry for years and even compared to months old group.

Let's take a look at a few groups for example

SNSD

By their second year as a group, they were THE biggest thing in Kpop. 2009 was SNSD's rise to stardom

And even a year prior, they were rivaling Wonder Girls who were even bigger than they were at one point before JYP fucked up

EXO

Who didn't officially debut until 2012, but only a year after were starting to break records. Fastest 1,000,000 seller and even won Album of the Year 2013 at MAMA. Yes, it was their peak, but EXO have stood the test of time and are still one of the biggest acts to this day. Even tho most members are pushing 30's

2NE1

Arguably, the inferior force that helped YG become a household staple name in the West. They were literally EVERY where in 2011, only 2 years after their debut. Even prior to their second mini, main vocal Park Bom has amassed 2 #1 singles and IATB was crowned Song of the Year for 2011 MAMA. The last very solid year for the group.

TWICE

Do I even have to speak up about Twice's MASSIVE IMPENETRABLE & HUGE success? Only a year after their debut?

Which brings me to the topic at hand...

For a group to have come from arguably the biggest Kpop company right now, why is being called a rookie for a 2+ year old group still a thing?

Is it used as sort of a "protection pad" to alleviate the group's abysmal success?

Is it mostly due to their shortcomings in the charts and other forms of lack of notable achievements?

What do you guys think?

I would like to hear others opinion on this matter

When they reach the success that they think they should have. The only reason they keep up the rookie thing is because they don't view them as successful as they think they should be especially coming from SM.

I truly hope they reach success this year

Cus we already have some fans complaining that they're working very hard but other groups are on vacation

Who calls them rookies exactly?

Looks like non fans have a lot of free time to spare to make useless threads, it's actually pretty funny

A few months ago I got negged for saying red velvet aren't rookies.

So they're are some on oh

Umm....

No RV fan is calling Red Velvet rookies lol, it's only those salty trolls who always want to compare them to other rookies who call them rookies.

There are definitely some very vocal ones out there

And I guess their boisterous demeanor and actions are what we come to see being an outside fan looking in

Maybe you were checking SUJU~  :derp:

Aren't those guys pushing 40-50's by now tho?

:derp:

I kid
