What do Koreans think of South East Asians?

I just saw the comments on Sooyoung that she looks like a South East Asian. And the tone of those comments sounds kinda weird. I already know that there is a Stigma in Korea about South East Asians. But i still don't know what's the REAL REASON behind it. Like what do they usually think?

"in four Southeast Asians living in South Korea has experienced discrimination, more than triple the corresponding figure for foreigners from OECD countries, according to a poll released on Tuesday.

According to the survey conducted by the Seoul Development Institute (SDI) on 333 foreign nationals living in the capital, 25.9 percent of Southeast Asian immigrants have faced discrimination, compared to 8.2 percent of foreigners from OECD nations, including the U.S., Japan and countries in Europe.  [Yonhap]"

I am Fil-Chi in descent, and there are many Koreans living in my city. Koreans tend to stick to themselves and do look down on Filipinos, especially those of pure Philippine descent. Not all, of course. Koreans here do not treat us with the same amount of respect as they do each other. I don't know why that is.

They are quite xenophobic. Thats the gist. Except if you are white, then it's something else entirely.

Ofc, i have Korean friends and know there are Koreans who just dont care about stuff like this. Im just saying as a generalization.

Many Koreans who move to SEA aren't exactly the cream of the crop. A lot of them move there to escape from something at home. And then, there is a certain degree of social hierarchy and classism within Korean society and many foreign manual laborers in Korea tend to be South East Asians. Discrimination or prejudice also exists among South East Asians. For example, some Thais tend to look down on Laos, etc.

I don’t really understand questions like these because at the end of the day it's all generalizations that aren't always true. Everyone is an individual and will have their own opinions.

Just like there will be prejudice (as it exists everywhere) there also won't be.

It depends on the person.

This tbh and it's a shame... For example my country Singapore who is the strongest economically in SEA and most of the domestic workers come from countries like Indonesia and Philippines.; and I know there's discrimination on that part...

Asian on Asian hate all over the place yo! Like Russell Peters says in his jokes. Asians can be spiteful towards another.

Koreans tend to be very 'salty' and stick to themselves. You do kind of notice that a bit when you see Koreans outside of Korea. Asians in general are a bit like that. With chinatown, little saigon, koreatown, etc. American-Born i don't think is a problem. but Korean borns, I don't know. They aren't fond of bi-racial kids, I can't imagine being Vietnamese is any better...  lol.
