TOP 10 2016 Comebacks by Masayume

With clocks slowly approaching January 1st I think I can more or less finally put this year where it belongs :
 

This year was quite turbulent and shitty - as much in kpop as it was privately - but optimistic as I am I can't deny we had some amazing bops throughout past 12 months that made this year a little bit better.
This was hard to put together because there were so many amazing comebacks this year, but I'll just go with my instinct and name 10 comebacks that impressed me the most.

So, here we go!

10. WJSN - Secret (release date Aug 16)


WJSN had a comeback with their new member and gave us arguably the best MV of this century year. MoMoMo was a let down for me, Catch Me was a bop with an awful MV but they got me all hooked with this track. Very very very underrated group.

9. K.A.R.D - Oh NaNa (release date Dec 12)


I was hungry for another co-ed kpop group for a long time and K.A.R.D fulfilled all my wishes with this predebut bop. Guys are great, girls are even better, chemistry between the members is amazing and Somin showed the whole world what a badass she is. A+

8. OH MY GIRL - Windy Day (release date May 25)


Another underrated group. Cutesy aegyo concepts ain't my style and there really has to be something that will catch my attention among other similar groups but I can tell you that OMG ain't your ordinary cute girl group. All of their comebacks have been interesting so far. Awesome group.

7. TAEYEON - Why (release date Jun 27)


Not many people have put this bop into their personal list, but I can't let it go unnoticed. I'm not a big fan of Taeyeon, but this song was a huge surprise for me. I never thought this would be Taeyeon's type of song but she pulled it off perfectly.

6. Bolbbalgan4 - Galaxy (release date Aug 28)


My first intention was to put AKMU here, but we all know how AKMU is awesome and they don't need another praise from me. Bolbbalgan4 is another fresh air in kpop and we need more groups like this.

5. MINO - Body (release date Sep 7)


I'm never getting tired of this song. Mino's rap is on point and that whole Legend of Zelda-ish tune that surrounds the song is chill. No need to add that Mino is hot af.

4. BLACKPINK - Whistle (release date Aug 8)


After three centuries of empty promises YG finally debuted his long-awaited girl group. Boombayah couldn't be more mediocre to me but Whistle's addictiveness has no boundaries. I'm still hwiparaparaparapam-ing to this song.

3. Ladies' Code - Galaxy (release date Feb 23)


Another Galaxy and another underrated group on this list. Ladies' Code came back stronger and better than ever this year. Their strenght should be an example for us all.

2. Wonder Girls - Why So Lonely (release date Jul 4)


After a masterpiece such as Reboot I couldn't think these girls could go higher than their last year comeback but they've brought us another summer jam.

1. Heize feat Dean - Shut Up And Groove (release date Jun 1)


This is perfection. Dean and Heize's voices blend so good with each other it gives me an eargasm. Waiting for this to be a permanent duo.
