Pulcat 57
A lot of people told me that i should create a Blog and become a blogger but Ehmm still thinking about it. This is kinda a sensitive topic. I would like to touch the topic "Mail Order Bride in Korea" which is popular here in Korea for old Koreans who are in there 40's-60's marrying foreign wives from other countries. Because of this following reasons, They are abusive that's why no Korean Womenwould want them. They're too old and etc. I guess a lot of people don't know that in other countries Mail Order Bride is a illegal act. Like in the Philippines "Republic Act 6955, or the Anti-Mail-Order-Bride Law in 1990." But despite that a lot of agencies still get access to the countries. It's actually legal in Korea. Because the Government think its the solution to the "Low population growth". But i think this is not the solution. Come on! For people who don't know the practice. It's actually a old Man buying a wife from other countries (SE Asia mainly). The Mail Order bride became a BOOM in 2007.(What i got from my research) Actually i don't like this practice. First of all it's not that different to "Human Trafficking". Second "You don't know what kind of person the man or the woman is" A lot of girls resort to this Practice because they think that it can be their "Stepping stone out of poverty". But what they think is not true. Those girls usually end up getting battered by the Abusive man and what they think about the glorious stepping stone is all a lie. They end getting treated like shit. There are a lot of news out there that those girls usually get murdered, abused and etc. But there are times that its the Girl's problem. Like what i said "Stepping stone". Some girls actually drink pills so they cannot get pregnant. After they got their Korean Citizenship they will run away and work and never to be found. But we don't have the right to judge this People who participate on it and its none of our business whether they're happy or not. But like what i said. I DON'T SUPPORT IT. I find it as an IMMORAL ACT. Other countries made it illegal and i hope Korea will soon close this IMMORAL SHAMING act. So i hope Korea would stop this "Mail order bride thing" Anyways i'm not a love expert but "Let love find you". You cannot force yourself to love someone who is a total stranger to you while you just met that person on some Matchmaking agency (But i guess some fall in love). But in the end we cannot say who's the one to blame? Because if there's no buyer there's no seller. If there's no seller there's no buyer! That's all I hope i can make a blog soon. So i can blog more stuffs >:D

mystiqurez 1,470
I agree with linscuit. I read your whole post and didn't see an invitation to discuss anything. Blogs need to be inviting, IMO. Mail order brides makes it harder for the genuine couples. Of course the abuse both ways is horrible too.

shootzz 26
Nobody wants to be lonely for the rest of their lives, but if they can find happiness by MOB then why not? Not every man who do that are ugly fat old man. If you are in the shoes of those women who live in a shitty hell hole and you were told that you have a chance to get out from the hell hole would you take that chance? Chances are if those women didn't become mail order bride then most (not all) will end up in prostitution. I am not saying it's right or wrong but this topic is highly debatable. Elcamino 38
Can't get anyone in their own country so they gotta buy a starving human halfway across the world to get some... Truly pathetic the thing is there's more and more people like that around the world ,in Europe they're ordering theirs from Romania or hungary and all of these eastern europe countries... (i remember seeing a documentary about Chinese men buying their wives in Vietnam and tricked theses girls by saying they would have a comfortable lives but end up in the countryside taking care of the elders and living in a shitty remote village...and there's another story i had from my korean friends about an old guy who killed his vietnamese wife he wasn't satisfy about his "order")
Jimmy 154
isn't this almost the same (or same token) as Asian families asking for hookup marriages to someone in America to gain a green-card/citizenship? Just reverse? Like if the gal's family has money, she'll pay the dude to marry, get her green card or whatever. they can terminate the marriage down the road. I guess with MOB it's more permanent compared to the 'marry for green card' situation. nvm........ lol
