BTS US SALES

How is it an over hype when they still have the best record for a kpop act?  :wut:

The next best is 6,000 so......bts remain unbothered

is that 23k overall or first week

Um actually the music industry has a long way to go. That number still gets you #26 on Billboard whether you're K-Pop or any other artist. Literally when will everyone else's faves.

and at what time of the year you release ..

I mean 23K is nothing compared to other American singers but for Kpop it's really good. Especially considering the album is in Korean and had no American promotion.

I don't think anyone should be dumb enough to think that any Kpop act will break into mainstream America but the sales are obviously higher than what most Kpop acts are capable of pulling in the US (and keep in mind that billboard counts pure sales and streams but no bulk buying of physical albums). So I'd say rather than indicating any huge popularity in America it indicates that they have a decent sized fandom in America that's growing. Still within the niche of Kpop but still big within that niche.

If anything given the fact that these sales are huge for Kpop acts in America, it indicates especially that Kpop just isn't that big in America period. And tbh Kpop is niche pretty much everywhere even in Korea.

It is good compared to many American singers. Again, #26 on Billboard. Many American singers can't get that. I don't think people realize how much physical sales in general have cratered. Whether people listen to something or not, people don't buy albums anymore. Of course there are huge artists out there like Adele...but no, not everyone's Adele.

Kings of being over hyped

lmfao @ this ridiculous comment. tell me a single kpop act that can even break 10k, less alone 20k. 23k is BIG for a kpop act considering kpop is totally a niche genre in US. You exols don't miss a chance to trash bts even if your comments don't make sense.

Albums released by Western artists themselves are lucky if they can cross 100k these days why were you expecting a K-pop group to do it?

Also their numbers may look small but they're still miles ahead of all other K-pop acts so...
