If there's technically 12 Days of Christmas...

shouldn't there be 12 days of gift giving/earning to those who celebrate it? I mean Hanukkah is 7 days of gift giving/earning, Kwanza is 8 (I think) so why is Christmas only celebrated on the first day when there's 11 others left. It should be like after all the presents are received, kids would open one present per day till the 12th day.
