But I can get govt loan and pay it off from my tax returns when I start earning above a certain threshold. It's much more expensive for international students. Almost twice as much I think. If you obtain a top position in admission exam, you can have one of the tax free seats and only pay for books and such. I have a tax free seat. And my stay in the Uni dorm is free as well (my mom is a teacher, so I don't have to pay). I only spend money on food, transportation and entertainment, I consider myself very lucky. The fee, if you don't have a tax free seat, varies from University to University. In my University is about 2000 euro a year, which is one, if not the highest out here.
