I mean when they debuted, they were Beast's competition and now Beast and other groups who have debuted after them have left them behind. Even having Dara's brother in the group didn't help. MBLAQ could've been bigger than what they are now maybe. I remember reading an interview that said during their break between their 2nd mini and full album they were offered many endorsement deals, acting gigs, variety shows, guest appearances, and musicals but the members said no to it. They said that because they didn't live to peoples' expectations that they wanted to train more. They were even surprised that their company let them. They said with all the money that they would've gotten had they agreed back then they could've easily boughten 3 houses with it.
