Larme 3,478 Posted December 23, 2016 Share Posted December 23, 2016 I mean, people will say they don't hate the girls personally, but it seems like as they go deeper and deeper into discussing TWICE they start to despise the girls (though they have done noting wrong). For instance, a thread on this forum might say " TWICE sold over (insert amount) copies of TWICEcoaster: Lane one", and the thread would be full of comments like ' Who cares about selling that much when they can't even sing". It's as if just because TWICE's singing abilities aren't as good as THEIR standards, then they must not be deserving at all. People need to realize just because it's not their fave group at the number one spot, it doesn't mean they can bring another group down. Everyone stans for different reasons. What makes one person happy is different from another. ... So, back to the title, why does TWICE's success bring so many mean words out of people. Hate? Jealousy? Discuss please~~~ And yes I know It's not just TWICE that gets a lot of unwarranted hate , but since they're the trend I just want to about their case especially. Yoon Eun Hye? SNSD? Tablo? Jay Park? Han Kyung? Really I don't think any of the new gen groups is mentally strong enough to survive the kpop scene in the 2nd gen where you could really be killed (Yunho) and still can't do anything to the anti. Because they are embodiment of the most thing we ALL hate in kpop , success with barely have any talent.They are one of the Biggest fraud in kpop. Twice is living proof that you can be successful even with little to no Talent in kpop. This is the reason they are hated. This is honestly just my biased opinion so please take it with a pile of salt Like, when I first listened to their music, I thought they were good and I looked at more fancams, MVs and performances of them expecting to like them more and more. But I couldn't help feeling disappointed somehow :( For example, hearing Cheer Up and Like Ooh Aah, I think that they have strong vocals but are limited by the song. But then I see that almost all the time they lip-sync, and then in those few moments you hear them live, they struggle a lot. Combine that with the cutesy aegyo dance they do, and it's easy to think they are untalented / not well trained. Then there's also the issue of the variety sense and visuals, for example Tzuyu, Chaeyeon and Mina are quiet and don't often speak up a lot. And honestly, Tzuyu and Chaeyeon are young, they are probably scared of speaking up too much / acting up, whereas Mina and Tzuyu are not from Korea, I always think that they want to avoid offending people, in case they step on some Korean culture rule or something. This leads to them being seen as "boring" and for some members like Mina / Chayeon, their expressions on stage aren't very good either :( Then there's also the dance line, you can see people like Mina and Momo, for example Mina was said to have done ballet for 11 years or something? You would expect her to be good, but then there was that ISAC or something where she completely messed up right? And then there's Momo whom you would expect to be good in dance, but I think when I saw Hit the Stage, as compared to other dances (etc Bora with an intense chair and floor routine + lots of popping and locking dance, Taemin with his smooth moves as usual), Momo seemed a bit lackluster. They are not untalented or bad, they are just young and have received a lot of attention. People's expectations are high on them, honestly they are doing well, but it feels like the general consensus is that there are other more talented groups out there, and if they had as much attention that Twice received, they would have been better. Anyone who don't know how much hate Twice gets, would think the group was in a big scandal or TT's mv has something really wrong... If it's not their bias group then they think they have a right to bash them..?? Then again, who knows. Just my opinion. So when I go online and look at I-fans trash talking them, it's hilarious. So many seem to think that TWICE must also be hated in Korea too, yet they don't realize Most Koreans don't care about some flimsy Mr- Removed or whether or not their best singer can hit the highest high notes ever.
