I finally going to start my student-teaching in January. my dad inspired me. besides, I love children and teaching! so its a win-win situation for me. I was always going to be a general biology major because I love human biology but I chose to get more specific with microbiology because the movie Contagion (you can lol all you want) introduced me to how interesting the field is. I might double major in Anthropology as well. We'll see how that works out... Med school or maybe public health for grad school is the ultimate goal. lisssie 3,872 Posted December 22, 2016 Share Posted December 22, 2016 how is that I was thinking about majoring in english to become a teacher too I mean I'm only a sophomore, so I'm not too far into my major yet, but I really like it. It is a lot of reading and writing, so if you're not up to that, then you should probably avoid english. But overall, I really like my major. English is a weird major though, you have to make sure your college is going to have a good liberal arts program. Most of them are decent, but my college encourages us to concentrate in something and they also require us to have a minor to open our field of experience up more. If you want to teach, really make sure that you want to do it before you get too far along. I initially decided to do cs for the money :P I do enjoy it, though, and am pretty good at it creative writing bc that was my passion when I was younger but it's very rarely lucrative~ nowadays it's more my hobby than anything.
