Rookie group â€˜LOONA 1/3′ reveals a special passion for their dream as singers

LOONA is a team with a very unique system and is revealing a new member every month. Their first unit LOONA 1/3, with members HeeJin, HyunJin, HaSeul, and ViVi, debuted on March 13 with their new album â€˜Love&Live.’

From HeeJin who was first revealed to the public last year October to ViVi was was revealed with the new unit, the four members put their dreams together and is getting ready for a official debut. â€œEvery night at the dorm we share secrets together,†HaSeul said. When HeeJin added, â€œWe share food because ViVi unnie is a good cook,†they were like any other ordinary girls.

However as a new generation girl group, they were very serious when they were talking about their goals and passions. â€œBecause I lived in the countryside, it took me 4 hours to get to the practice room in Seoul. I didn’t have enough practice time nor enough money for the transportation,†HeeJin said.

HeeJin loved dancing since she was young so she participated in many contests and shows, naturally leading to the dream of being a singer. In the audition, she sang Lin’s ‘A-live’ and got accepted. HyunJin desired for the stage ever since she was in a talent show in elementary school, and chose 4MEN’s â€˜Hello’ as her audition song. It is the reason she has strong points in both performing and vocals.

HaSeul felt joy for singing when she was in choir in elementary school and got accepted singing IU’s â€˜Friday.†ViVi spent her childhood watching KPop music videos and dreamed of being a singer. She sang a song by a Taiwanese singer ChaeRim in the audition. We can expect a variety of concepts from LOONA.

In reality, the members wanted to try different concepts as well, such as  dreamy fairytale concept, IOI’s girl crush â€˜Whatta Man’-esque concept, 2NE1′s stylish hiphop concept. With the girl’s different role models, it will be safe to anticipate what kind of performances these girls will show us.

The girls also revealed hopes for variety shows as well. â€œBecause I like finding new places to eat I want to be on â€˜Tasty Road’ or â€˜Wednesday Food Talk,’†HeeJin said. HaSeul added, â€œI want to be on shows where I can sing live, such was â€˜King of Mask Singer.†ViVi revealed, â€œI want have fun on â€˜Running Man,’†and HyunJin showed confidence saying, â€œThere isn’t sport I cannot do.â€

Lastly, we asked for the member to reveal the other members and their strong points and charms.

HeeJin: With a very friendly charm, I think my unique voice is my strong point.

HyunJin: She is a girl of many talents.

HaSeul: She has wacky side of her that doesn’t match with her first impression

ViVi: She helped me a lot when I first came to Korea and couldn’t speak Korean

- ★ HyunJin

Hyunjin: My vocal teacher told me I had a very good tone.

HeeJin: Her confidence is really great and I envy it.

HaSeul: Her dancing is really beautiful.

ViVi: She always has a cool look because she is good at sports.

- ★ HaSeul

HaSeul: I love my voice. It is a strong point as a singer.

HeeJin: The fact that she loves her voice is an important aspect as a singer.

HyunJin: She is good at communicating.

ViVi: She is good at expressing her feelings because she is good with words.

- ★ ViVi:

ViVi: I am always sharing food because I like to cook and I’m good at it.

HeeJin: She has a lot of charms. She’s cute, and has a feminine side when cooking.

Hyunjin: Her speech and actions are really cute and charming.

HaSeul: The way she goes â€œYeah yeah?†when I call her is really cute.

Jo Haseul, born on August 18th, 1997. She participated in her Youth Song Festival and got casted to be a trainee. The audition was called 'Let’s meet on Friday’. Haseul never imagined she would be the third girl of the month. She was so thrilled when she heard the news that she was going to debut, she kept crying. Haseul was so desperate (to debut). She watched her music video “Boy, Gir †over a hundred times. In elementary, she was in a choir and wanted to go to university for vocal music.
