Have you guys watched this masterpiece of a show? If you haven't, you should go

Here's the trailer

Season 2 only coming in 2018  :rlytearpls:

I need to discuss this show, i have so many questions and i read so many theories my head is spinning o2czelx.png

Spoilers /!\ PLEASE DONT READ FURTHER IS YOU STILL HAVENT WATCHED OR FINISHED THE SERIES. Spoilers /!\

  • Is William (Old man/current version) even real? Does Ford ever even talk to real people (aka guests) inside the park? He only talks to hosts. He might just be another one of his hosts with his own storyline, just modified more often. I know he has too much knowlegde about the place and the "game" but might be a storyline. Not probable but possible.

  • Did Maeve break her programmed storyline by getting out the train at the end or was she programmed to, still?  She didn't let Bernard finish when he was going to tell her the one thing left she was programmed to do that she hadn't done yet. He had alrdy told her that she was supposed to take someone else with her, everyone assumed it was Clementine (and she didn't take her) but maybe it was her kid instead.

  • Is next season supposed to take us to Samuraïworld? The location of Maeve's daughter said " Park 1" , implying there are multiple parks.

  • Dolores was supposed to have attained "consciousness", but did she kill Ford out of her own consciousness or she still did what Ford programmed her to do? If it's the latter, then what even is the purpose of her gaining consciouness if she's still just gonna do what Ford tells her to.

  • Was that Ford that she killed, or was it a host version of him? He was making one of those old versions of hosts in his lab althroughout the last episodes, using the old machines.

  • Is Arnold even a real person that existed? Nobody even knows he exists besides the hosts, Ford and William (commonly referred to as the Man In Black). If William is real then there's a higher chance of Arnold being real but if he isn't then why nobody even knows what Arnold looks like. Nobody inside the park ever wondered why Bernard looked like the spitting image of him?

  • If he's real, how tf did Dolores even kill him inside the park in the first place, i thought guests were supposed to be immune

  • This Wyatt storyline is so confusing i don't get it. Dolores is basically Wyatt right? But what is the purpose? And Those followers that kill everyone they come across inside the park?

  • Are there any other hosts out of the 'game' and in the staff besides Bernard? When they were talking about Theresa's death, there was a line about her going that far out there was " out of character" and it was stressed too. Was she a host?

  • Were the two low level techs hosts too? If not, then how could Ford have been sure that the events would go just how he wanted them to just by setting up Maeve's storyline? If the techs didn't react the way they did everytime his plan might've just gone haywire.

And everytime the asian tech would try or be told to "erase" and "reset" her, he'd hesitate then stop and not do           it.

Unless the whole season 1 is actually just a narrative for the actual park, heres what i think

1. William is a real hooman who got obsessed with the park

2. Maeve gained consciousness and made her own decision to return. Her objective was to leave but she didnt do that

3. Uh.. no idea..

4. Dolores gained consciousness

5. Anthony hopkins is too old and too expensive to play 2 seasons so that was the real ford

5. I have the exact same question, if arnold really existed then it's a giant plothole (among many..) that no one recognizes him

5. Ford changed their code so all the hosts can kill for real inside the park

This is the main reason why I think Ford is still alive and the whole plot of the first season is part of his narrative. Unless he cleaned house, people should recognize Bernard as Arnold.

Wait he did? Was this said in the show? How did i miss this.

Do you remember what ep it was said so, if it did?

I don't think it shows him saying it, but on the last episode all the hosts come to the board meeting/party and attack the real people there. The Man in Black is shot and bleeds too.

I know he used Maeve's escape as a distraction to get all those hosts from the "storage" and so they could circle the guests without them noticing.

But ok thanks.

And oh yeah i forgot about the man in black's jubilation when he realized the hosts were allowed to be shot now, cause that's what he wanted from the beginning, making the game more real. I'm stupid, thanks.

But Dolores killed Arnold wayyy back in the beginning though so

1. William is real. I am rather interested to know what happened with Logan, his friend. William married his sister and became the owner of most of the park.

2. I am not sure Maeve staying wasnt programmed, like you said she didnt let Bernard finish.

3. Idk

4. Dolores supposedly did get consciousness. She killed Ford because she understood Arnold's initial purpose when Teddy killed everybody. They, as hosts, were really feeling hence were destined to suffer.. so Dolores killed Ford and started a revolution. They were feeling, programmed or not, it was their world.

4. I think it was Ford. He basically suicided. The way I see it, he invented this whole new narrative because he knew what was coming, he knew the investors wanted him out to gain more control. So he made his choice, if I am out then everybody is.

5. I think nobody recognises him because he was there like 35 years ago. He was part of the team that created the hosts but he died before the park even opened or became a huge thing with the public. Workers may know him by name, not by picture.

6. I think when a hosts gains consciousness, it makes them free to do so. However, even in Maeve's case she was programmed to "wake up", so..

7. Dolores is Wyatt. Dont know the purpose.. it actually makes me question if the whole Arnold thing was there only as a part of the narrative to make Dolores do what she did in the end. Hmm..

8. Theresa wasnt a host. But there may be more, yeah.

9. According to Maeve they were humans. Maeve was programmed to be clever and persuasive. So there.. she was going to find a way anyway because it was part of her narrative.

- Ford when he was talking to the old man host that plays piano for him or whatever, was talking about how before the new type of hosts, there was an old type of model  (like the kid whose face opens up and shit). He said the only way to distinguish between humans and those old hosts was to look at their hands, they had something weird about them.

Ford was making an old model type of host back in his basement while preparing for all these events. In the last episode while he was shaking hands with Bernard, they did a really long close up on Ford's hands then they switched to Bernard's confused face while he was shaking Ford's hand slowly. It was really sus'. I will personally keep thinking that wasnt real Ford until contrary evidence surfaces, too many things point to it being a host version of him that was on the move that last night.

- There should be archives, and pictures, and old shareholders or old workers/scientists that were there from the beginning, it's just weird how absolutely no one is aware of Arnold's existence besides a couple hosts and 2 (alleged) real people.

1. William is real. He is obsessed with the park though and wants it to be as real as the real world. He wants robots to be like real humans, which is why he was fascinated initially with Dolores, then with Maeve. He wants the pain he experiences in the park, to be real as well, that's why he was so happy he got shot.

2. She wanted to take her "daughter", that's why Felix gave her the instructions where to. She chose to stay though.

3. I hope so. The original movie had multiple parks, Medieval World, Rome World, and the sequel had even Future World. I hope we see them all and more.

4. Both. Dolores gained consciousness, but also gave Ford what he wanted from her. I hope we'll see Ford again though, this time as the robot he was making in the basement.

5. Yeah, good question. See also 4.

6. Arnold was the one who wrote a vital part of the code that Ford couldn't. No one knew what Arnold looked like though. It was said in the show that the park goes through a rapid personnel change, so those you see today, they are a completely different group of employees from 35 years ago. And Ford make sure to hide what he looked like.

7. The guns are high tech mumbo jumbo that slow down the bullet when they reach the guests, so it hits them but doesn't hurt them. This is the official explanation, don't think too hard how they work, you are just supposed to accept that for storytelling purposes. If she used a non-mumbo jumboed gun, she could still hurt people.

8. Wyatt in Ford's storyline which he programmed on the hosts is based on Dolores' rampage 35 years ago. The others are there for season 2.

9. No one knows yet.

10. Maeve's storyline suffers from poor writing a bit. She said Felix is not one of them in the last episode. If so, Felix is just fascinated with her the way William is with the park. We'll see though.

No she chose to stay precisely for her daughter. She was gonna leave alone.

I honestly think, unlike the rest of the people on here, she didn't break away from the storyline, just following what the storyline was saying.
