Andy Will Not Be Participating in Shinhwa’s 16th Anniversary Concert in March

Just last year, Shinhwa had a busy year, holding their 15th anniversary concert and releasing their 11th full album. Now on their 16th year together, Shinhwa will be holding a concert in March as promised to fans, celebrating the group’s debut 16 years ago.

 

However, due to the events last year concerning Andy and illegal online gambling, Andy will not be participating in the upcoming concert, leaving the stage to the remaining 5 members.

 

Last May, the group received a lot of love with the song “This Love†from their 11th album, which received first place on music programs eight times, as well as their variety show “Shinhwa Broadcast Season 2†on JTBC, and their fans are very much looking forward to seeing the group on stage again. 

 

The members said, “We are so thankful to the fans who have been with us for the last 16 years, and we promise to work even harder and show everyone an amazing show in March at our 16th anniversary concert. Also, we don’t know when our 12th album will be released, but we will do our best with it, and we will not disappoint our fans.â€

 

An official at Shinhwa Company also said, “While Andy is not able to participate in the 16th anniversary concert due to certain events, this does not mean the members of Shinhwa are going to change,†and again thanked the fans for their steadfast love over the years and promised great things for the future. 

 

Meanwhile, members Lee Min Woo and Shin Hye Sung both have plans to release solo albums, and Kim Dong Wan has musical performances lined up until the beginning of March for “Le Passe-muraille,†where he plays the lead Dutilleul.

I understand why he's not participating but it still makes me a little sad since he's my bias. But Shinhwa will still put on a great concert.

Sorry, but this actually sounds like they're reassuring fans that they won't be adding new members to Shinhwa. XD;;;

I was actually wondering why too.. are Shinhwa mad at him? Did he just decide he wants to reflect on his mistake? Or is he not allowed to by law?

I'm guessing that's why they're pushing back the album. So the scandal can finish dying down.

After all, if it would get them flak for Andy to participant in the concert, it would likely also get them flak if he was working in the studio like nothing had happened.
