New rumors claimed that the hit "Goblin" Korean drama will have an American remake.

International Business Times reported that some producers are eyeing the Korean drama to create an American version in the future because of its unique story. The report added that Keanu Reeves will star the rumored TV series. However, there is no official confirmation pertaining to this news.

yall only care about american remakes when korean oppars are involved. keep it. find me an industry that never remakes other countries movies/shows.. cuz even your little oppars country does it.  :imstupid:

 

That true, I mean korea remade the good wife and are now planning to remake Suits and criminal minds. Also Japaneses remakes like boy over flower and tomorrow cantabile.

It's fun to watch remakes esp when I thoroughly enjoy the original ones. Most of the remakes are likely to be disappointing but I love to compare similar details and go like "ahhhh this part..." or "ohhhh they changed the whole thing here" haha. I even watched "My sassy girl" US ver. simply becuz I love My sassy girl soooo much  :lol:

Okay but other countries remake shows all the time...?

The thing is, other countries also air subtitled/dubbed shows as well, with only an occasional remake here and there. Americans (generally speaking) refuse to watch anything that comes from another country and isn't 100% catering to them. And that's what's bothering people.

I wouldn't mind tbh. There are lots of things in the show's world that a Hollywood version could explore(grim reapers, other goblins, other deities, etc.). It's one of those rare kdramas that would probably be better off having the US multi-season format(just speaking of the show's concept lol). Keanu Reeves getting the role would be so meta, the man doesn't age lol

 

 

Tho Gong Yoo looking cuddly and fluffy and being adorably embarrassing in the K-version>>>>>>
