More importantly, their pronunciation just plain sucks. The foreign members are bad but why does Jihyo keep pronouncing her words like she's a foreigner too? And if they're going to lip sync everything, at least have some complex dances. Their dances are pretty much little kid talent shows ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ They've lasted three years off of their pretty faces, how much longer do you think that can last?

At least Soshi can pull off lives and their actual vocal line is talented. Twice's main vocalist Jihyo was apparently a trainee for 10 years but what does she have to show for it? The truth is the truth but idols should be allowed the chance to improve. EXO got so much shit for that when they first started but no one can deny they are vocally talented. A lot of groups start off with heavy lip synching but a lot of them also do total reversals when given the chance to grow. Hopefully, twice does too or otherwise I have to agree with quite a few comments here.

I mean lbr idk anyone in SIXTEEN actually had main vocalist qualities. The closest was Jiwon and she was axed so early one (Which I'm still angry about). Minyoung could sing but she always tried to do more than she actually could and she always cracked. idk Singing is a plus for me but if you can put on a good performance I think that's just as good. 

But yeah JYP focuses too much on the whole character thing and the whole "HALF AIR HALF VOICE" technique isn't going to help TWICE improve at all. If you ask me they have gotten better since LOA and the debut days but that's just my opinion. Everyone lipsyncs so I really don't see an issue with it.

 

They just need better vocal teachers because Taemin went from being a horrible vocalist to a really good one with training and practice and not doing the whole BS of half air/half voice thing.

Twice has weak vocals, they lipsync (let's pretend they are the only ones cause we don't see 8849 threads about other group lipsync performance), but when did Twice fans said the group is Mamamoo's level of vocals? Nobody stans them for their vocals so why would NON FANS be bothered?

 

Onces know their flaws already, so to who you all want to prove something?

Since this looks like this is going to be a twice-shit fest for the haters, I just wish that they improve their skills so that 3-4 years in the future, maybe sooner, they'd be recognized for their vocals and their hard work. They may not be the best singers, nor the ones that improve drastically the fastest, but I know that where they are now is not their top, they can still improve so much and show new sides to them that we've never seen as singers and performers. Twice fighting!

he acknowledges that Shannon is an excellent singer but criticizes her for her lack of emotions. There's a difference between a technically good singer who sings with emotion and make a song their own, and a technically good singer who just well...sings. And she's crying because she knows that's exactly what her issue is, not because he called her a singing machine. Notice how in the translation above it says she started crying before he went on to say she sings like a singing machine.

To combat the inevitable "Well everybody lipsyncs in KPOP":

 

Sort of. Even the most talented singers will lipsync in environments where live vocals aren't going to be appreciated as much or when they are required to by the production team due to bad audio (like big dome concerts or the small festivals where the audio equipment is shit). There are also plenty of KPOP performances where the original stage was live vocals but the PD dubbed over the studio sound so it appears to be lipsynced when it really wasn't.

 

However, the vast majority of groups and solo artists tend to sing live for the big bulk of their stages. It's really not as widespread of an practice as people think.
