Are women who usually ship male characters/people with each other considered a bad thing for YOU?

Had just been wondering, because i've seen both hate and love going on for this in general and

i don't know if its moral or not to do that...

honestly, whenever i feel like i am doing something wrong, i isolate myself and then feel bad about it

i don't want to feel dirty and only the thought of doing something that is not considered ok sickens me

so is it alright to be a girl and ship two male characters despite the fact that you are a girl

some people might consider it ''fetishism''

and i know this word is connected with wrong stuff

I just don't like feeling dirty about liking anything or feeling bad and wrong in general..

are men who are actually gay ok with this thought being processed by women?

i am not a homophobe at all, this post also has to do with stuff i've been thinking and sometimes i feel like i am in the wrong place or something,it makes me feel confused and i don't know what the real answer actually is.. what if i've been doing the wrong thing the whole time?

imo, I don't think it's a bad thing? As long as you do not force your opinion and tell them to date each other, it's fine

It's just that you think they look better together or have more chemistry tgt, it's just your preference

As long as it's harmless I don't see why that should be bad

Of course it's bad if you ship 2 boys together because you like it, but then you turn around and say homosexuality is a sin

(etc people who watch lesbian porn point with one hand and jack off with the other :._.: )

honestly i read somewhere that sometimes girls do that because in common culture, in a straight relationship, often the straight man is the "domineering" one of the relationship, and sometimes girls want to have a break and fangirl over a more "balanced" and "equal" relationship. thus = 2 boys.

hope my answer made sense to you :ohbi:

when straight folks do it sometimes I feel a little weird about it, especially when they reproduce harmful tropes (but, anyone can do that, I guess). generally I'm more or less fine with it if it's a queer person

I'm honestly not sure if it's possible to ship male char. as a non gay person without it being in some small way fetishistic though. because at some level it's a fantasy that that person finds arousing. and using the supposed sexuality of other people to get off is a bit degrading. and I say that as a queer woman who has been reading gay porn for years. It's just one of those things where I think to myself, hmm, where to draw the line. I like to think it's not because I fetishize gay men but because I am attracted to non normative sexuality in general and recognize a sort of kinship in it

I think as long as you're not actively invading gay spaces or trying to out people for kicks or being inconsiderate of them as people you're ahead of the game though

I don't think it's wrong but be careful with people you personally know. It can make them feel very uncomfortable, especially when they are straight-

I am a girl myself, not sure about my sexuality but that's a completely other topic. I know a lot of straight girls as well who do this as well.

i personally don't think that shipping a gay ship necessarily means that you are fetishizing them, but unfortunately for a lot of the straight girls that is the case.

as i said on the other thread, what really gets me to me, is that many of these girls that are into yaoi don't actually give a shit about lgbt rights. they couldn't give two shits about lesbians and they only "care" about gay men bc they satisfy their little fantasies. i've even seen people that even though they ship slash ships, they are actually openly homophobic irl.

i only found it a problem with the straight fangirls who ship two males but then when you bring up the idea that they could actually be gay or bi they go into full defensive mode claiming they're all straight blah blah.. it seems a lot of straight fangirls who ship (from experience in the kpop fandom) are lowkey homophobic imo..

Sometimes i think this is because of the hormonal changes in girls and the fact that they don't know anything about life yet. And yeah, its hypocritical if you are a shipper and hate lgbt rights OR are a shipper and support lgbt rights just because you have a certain fantasy about them and follow it for your own pleasure without actually caring.

I like to sort my brain in parts, like i don't, LIKE EVER, include shipping when supporting a serious matter and the shipping is aside for other reasons and i never connect the two. There is no doubt i would do that and if i did that, i would actually feel sick in the stomach. These people are probably just young and still do not realise if its ok or not but as they grow up they'll realise.

I mean there are girls in my class who ship boys in my class with eachother and they always say things like 'NOW KISS' or '*insert gay ship* IS REAL' and it's pretty disrespectful in my opinion because the boys who are shipped with are definitely straight, but even if they were queer it's disrespectful

But shipping two male idols? It's not really bad imo. Their companies even want fans to ship them with all the fanservice.

As a lesbian I feel very uncomfortable when straight men fetishize us. I doubt gay men face this problem as often as us.

yeah, this is another can of beans. the sexualization of gay men and interest in homoeroticism by straight women still absolutely pales in comparison to the multi million dollar porn industry targeted at men and you shouldn't singlehandedly demonize straight female sexuality while that's still going on

^^^^^^^

a common misconception is that if you support gay ships = you support lgbt, there are straight dudes who will watch lesbian porn until their dicks fall off but be against gay marriage or couples with two guys, the fetishization and objectification of lgbt people is rampant these days with fandom ships growing

Um, i think it's normal. Bc you're a girl, you hate when 'another' girl--yeah, girl beside you--being together with 'your' guy, so you create this imagination that 'your' guy wouldnt have a chance with 'another' girl, that he better fall for another guy. Does my logic make sense? In idol case, i mean.

Q:does anybody do shipping thing in real life?? like with your friend or random guy you just met in the street??
