For all drama watchers out there, or even those who just occasionaly watch, which do you prefer? (This could be for acting overall, but since K-dramas are a teensy bit notorious for this it kind of applies moreso to K-ones. But base it on whatever you wish.)

Overacting: exaggerated facial expressions, obnoxious yelling, overpronunciation, etc. And here it doesn't mean when the character is eccentric or flamboyant and the person's portrayed appropiately exaggerated, you know what I mean.

It's okay for an example since bb can act now ^^

orrrrr

Underacting/Blank/Dead Eyes/Limp Noodle: monotone diction, awkward kissing, blank face, etc.

See that slight part in the lips? It takes a degree of control and ability to keep that slight pout for 25 epsiodes.

You KNOW I had to include homegirl in here.

Kim Hyun Joong, you're pretty funny and nice to look at. Can you not look constipated the entire show?

I personally prefer overacting. At least that's interesting and sometimes fun to watch. I actually become enraged when someone is dead when acting. I feel like clawing at the screen til I burst through and scratch them until they shut up or die. Either one is fine.

The worst offense though has to be a combination of both:

(And don't stock this up to culture preference. There is such a thing as acting a more theatrical, overdramatic character well, portraying subtle emotions well, and portraying a hardened/toughed character well.)

I prefer underacting tbh. It's better I just imagine the character is supposed to be inexpressive rather than suffer through endless exaggerations; it makes me want to slap them through the screen.

The only time I find overracting hilarious is in J-dramas- I equate it with them trying to express some of those amazing expressions that you see in anime.
