(and before we pull up the sajaegi thing again, the ratings are 65% digital sales, and only 5% physical, so... ok apparantly that's not entirely the case, but the point is they would've won even with lower physical sales so possible manipulation did not affect this win.)

You clearly don't understand how the score system on Music Bank works, so shut up.

Edit: Obviously, as it turns out B1A4 had a much higher broadcast score so B1A4 would have won regardless of if their albums are inflated.

ok, can you please explain it then instead of just being rude?

I have explained many times before how it works. Music Bank has a MUCH more refined scoring system than the other shows:

You don't understand how the points work.

In total, there are 200,000 point handed out.

65% (130,000) digital points

20% (40,000) broadcast points

10% (20,000) viewer vote points

5% (10,000) album points

But this is how they're handed out:

In the count for number of albums sold:

JaeJoong made up 45.53% of all albums sold that week, so he gets 4,553 album points (45.53% of the 10,000 album points).

Troublemaker made up 9.79% of all album sold that week, so they get 979 album points (9.79% of the 10,000 album points).

In the count for digital sales

JaeJoong made up 0.460% of all digital sales that week, so he gets 598 digital points (0.460% of the 130,000 digital points).

Troublemaker made up 3.727% of all digital sales that week, so they get 4,845 digital points (3.727% of the 130,000 digital points).

When someone says how it's 65% digital and 5% albums, so albums are not important... Then that person has not understood how the scoring system on Music Bank works so that person is terribly wrong.

PS. Also, both Troublemaker and JaeJoong had 0 in viewer scores, because viewers can only vote on the songs that charted the previous week, so all new songs alway have 0 in that category.

And Troublemaker had 449 points in the broadcast score, so even if JaeJoong would have had as much Troublemaker would still have won.

But as I said before, they've made some change to broadcast points now.

And the 65% digital is actually 3 different scores: It's supposed to be 40% streaming, 20% downloads and 5% mobile.

The total score on Music Core is very much decided by digital downloads + album sales.

This means that a new big digital seller is very likely to win first week but not on any more weeks after that.

2NE1 won last week. They will probably not be able to win this week.

Example: Davichi won on Music Core with "the letter". They have very high digital downloads and that's it. That was enough to win on Music Core, but not on any of the other shows.

The total score on Inkigayo is much depending on music video views.

That's why it's almost impossible for songs that don't have a music video to win (so for example, GD won with CDE instead of "Who you" or "Black"). It also means that it's easy for big acts from SM/YG to win here because their videos gonna get lots of attention.

Example: Taeyang won on Inkigayo. Because of his music vidoe views. That was enough to win on Inkigayo, but he did not do good enough in other categories to win on any of the other shows.

The total score on Music Bank is much more complex as I explained earlier in this thread.

It's for example difficult to win if the artist doesn't have a CD release.

It's difficult to win if the artist isn't promoting much on TV.

It's almost impossible to win on first week if you don't release on Monday/Tuesday because you miss so many days of streaming and all new songs have 0 in viewer voting.

But on the other hand, the high points for streaming and viewer votes makes it possible for rather "old" songs to win and for songs to keep winning many weeks (and especially if they keep having high CD sales too by for example keep doing fansign events).

Example: Crayon Pop - Bar Bar Bar won on Music Bank. This song was never explosive enough to win on the other shows, but it won on Music Bank.

The total score on M Countdown is also quite complex.

Generally, to win on MCD the artist need to do "OK" in many categories.

But the score is really much up to the PD to decide and if you don't come perform on the show you really have no chance at all to win.

ok thanks. i usually don't bother with the ranking systems, the only reason i checked it up at all was because of the scandal. i'll edit the op if that makes you happier.

and for the bolded part, well that's all i care about anyway

B1A4 got much higher broadcast score then TVXQ so they won and regarding Troublemaker vs Jaejoong, Troublemaker won coz JJ banned from music show and broadcast etc so of course he got zero score, hmm broadcast point so important for music bank, right ?

congrats, they work hard for it

do you think their broadcast point system little weird? like they give whatever they want cause most people not sure how it works ?

They used to have a system where broadcast scores were determined by airplay on a number of TV and radio stations.

That was a very good system (kind of similar to how there is airplay as part of Billboard hot-100)

Then they changed it in late 2011 to only be based on airplay in KBS TV.

Supposedly because WONDERFULS and SONES basically mail-bombed the radiostations with requests for songs to be played when SNSD and WG were promoting at the same time in 2011...

This system was ridiculous and lead to how PSY kept winning week after week with a ridiculous broadcast score, because various news programs etc on KBS TV kep playing Gangnam Style all the time for months.

They changed it again sometime in 2013 so the broadcast scores aren't ridiculous anymore, but I don't know how they changed it.
