Wisconsin prepares for a recount.

Officials in Wisconsin are preparing to conduct a full recount of the votes from the US election in the state, which was narrowly won by Donald Trump. A formal request for the recount was filed by the Green Party's Jill Stein.

Dr Stein, the Green Party's candidate, has also pledged to file for recounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

 

In statement, the Wisconsin Elections Commission said it had received two recount petitions from the Jill Stein campaign and from Rocky Roque De La Fuente, a businessman who ran unsuccessfully to be the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee. "The Commission is preparing to move forward with a statewide recount of votes for President of the United States, as requested by these candidates," said Wisconsin election commission administrator Michael Haas. He said the recount would begin in the week after Dr Stein's campaign has paid the fee, which the commission was still calculating. Dr Stein's campaign needs to raise millions of dollars to cover the fees for the vote recount in all three states.

 

US officials have said there was no evidence of election tampering in the three states where Republican candidate Donald Trump had razor-thin victories over his Democratic rival. Mr Trump's camp has made no public comments on the recounts issue. Mr Trump won 290 electoral votes in the November election, while Mrs Clinton had 232 votes.

Michigan is yet to declare final results.

Your link doesn't say no money is needed to file for a recount. (Hint: it's needed) It asks why she raised her goal to $7 million (she claims attorney fees but idk if it's correct).

Pennsylvania is out of reach for a recount and Michigan is a paper ballot vote. Why doesn't she ask for a recount of the entire United States? Millions of dead people and illegal votes will be discovered and Trump will win popular vote as well.

Trump has standing to push for a recount in New Hampshire, Virginia, Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico - where far more voting irregularities were recorded. An honest count might easily flip every one of those states Republican.

 

Sober Democrats have to be screaming at Stein and her backer George Soros to knock this stuff off, fast. They don't want to take down their whole operation in a vain attempt to salve Hillary Clinton's ego.

Based on her interviews, where she outright says "I'm not doing this to help Hillary" I think she means it. She thinks the votes for her were counted as Hillary's. She probably wants to lower Hillary's popular vote.

 

I highly doubt this though, Jill really wasn't popular comparable to Hillary. Even Gary Johnson did better than her.

When the recount begins there will be lawyers from all candidates allowed to monitor. It would be foolish for any of them not to be involved. And yes, not enough attention is being paid to the outstanding Senate race. I fear Dems have already given up on it, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Yes, basically. It's just annoying because HRC camp did not want to pursue this but the story painted will imply that they did anyways and Dems might get all caught up in it instead of focusing on the main issues, like the LA senate seat. The party has a real problem where they only direct their energy on what will get them the WH or flip the Senate/House. I hope people get energized and wake up to LA's race. It'll be tough but they need to keep hope and rally around it. Really hoping we can get that additional seat.
