Tbh I really found Yixing's acting improved so much from when he first started. I am an avid drama fan and tbh a bad actor really takes the joy of watching away from me and makes me cringe, but Yixing's acting in Old Nine Gates was such a pleasant surprise.

In all honesty at the starting episodes of old nine gates yixing's acting was a bit awkward and unnatural at some parts he progressed as the drama moved on and I couldn't be prouder that he improved episode by episode by episode

 

so please dont paint a false image as though he was amazing as fuck from the beginning he wasn't nor was he bad either and me and other xingmis have acknowledged his progress as ONG progressed

...I didn't tho? I said his acting was a pleasant surprise, meaning that I had mediocre hopes --not bad but not amazing-- but as the series progressed, so did his character and his acting. Please also don't put words in my mouth, ..I edited my comment to exclude Kris too just in case ppl take it as a comparison when it was just my general opinion on Yixing. I have watched and liked some of Kris' movies as well

honestly when I read the title, I knew there will be some hate. But I really expected it to be like half half. Like hate and positive comments. Only until I translated quite a lot did I realize there were barely Kris comments. I suspect Yixing probably won't even act at all if acting doesn't help fund his music and albums development. 

 

My personal POV is that his only goal is music. Everything else is done because it is a necessary part of being an idol and being a successful idol help him to achieve his music dreams. 

 

And because he is a perfectionist/hardworking/wants his fans and family to be proud of him, he will put in his best efforts in all the non-music jobs as well. But end of the day, those are sidelines and not his main objective. 

 

Frankly, as long as he is believable as whichever character he is acting, I think it is good enough. No high hopes of him having fantastic acting skills.
