It's the slogan that won an election – and now people are rushing to emblazon Make America Great Again on their Christmas trees, thanks to an ornament that is attracting mirthful attention online.

 

The product, snappily titled  Trump Make America Great Again Red Cap Collectible Ornament, is modeled on the signature red baseball cap that Donald Trump wore while on the campaign trail this year.

 

Made from brass and finished in 14 karat gold, the miniature hat is so popular that yesterday online superstore Amazon was forced to label it as 'sold out'. However, buyers eager to get their hands on the decoration will be relieved to learn that they are currently available to purchase from Amazon Marketplace.

 

While the tree decoration has clearly found favour with Amazon's shoppers, reviewers have been quick to label it a load of old baubles, giving it an average star rating of just 1.6 out of 5.

 

"It tried to put my nativity figures into an internment camp," complained one review. "Would not buy again."

 

"The angel on top of my tree just hired a lawyer," said another.

 

One reviewer channeled Trump's idiosyncratic delivery in his satiric offering: "Despite ordering a more reasonable ornament, this one arrived. It. Is. Yuge. It's absolutely yuge. It's the biggest ornament. Yuge. I hung it on my tree, but it is so yuge that it has totally unbalanced my whole tree. No matter where I hang it, the tree leans waaaaaay over to the far right."

 

The product page's 'Customer Questions & Answers' section has also become a soundboard for people looking to work through their feelings about the election, which Trump won despite losing the popular vote to Hillary Clinton.

 

In response to a query asking whether the item can be used after Christmas, a user helpfully explained: "It can only be used for the next 4 years, or until civilization ends, whichever comes first."

 

Another answer, this time responding to an enquiry about the product's projected lifespan, suggested that four years might be optimistic: "preliminary testing in real-world scenarios indicates this item may have a melt-down and fall apart prior to January 20th 2017 if exposed to persistent ridicule.â€

 

Perhaps the most salient comment was left by a reviewer by the name of 'BloodyEddie', who simply asked: "How is America not great when people have 200 dollars to blow on a cheaply made ornament?"

My office puts up a tree every year and we pool resources to get a really nice ornament, usually on the pricey side. For example, 8 years ago we got a really nice, hand crafted ornament from Hawaii. We liked it so much, we decided to get another one just like it 4 years later. Well, this year we all got together and chose a sedate, classy ornament from a shop in New York. My New York friends swore by their work and so we voted and chose it.
But then this red and gold POS showed up in the mail and we can't figure out why! We went through the vote hat again and we definitely voted for the New York piece with overwhelming numbers. I'm a bit worried that our manager, who thinks he's special and soooo sELECTIVE, might have gone over our heads and ordered this one instead.

It turns out we can't get a refund and now we're stuck with the ugly thing. We put it on the side of the tree facing the wall, but it must be bewitched or something because it keeps reappearing at the top of the tree every morning! We found our angel topper in the corner crying. We don't know what happened and she says she's afraid to tell us =/

 

 

Ornament has a strange orange tint, made all the Barbie's go on a diet, programmed the hover board to light the carpet on fire in the shape of a swastika, keeps putting a white hood on the angel and makes babies cry. I would send it back but the postage to Russia is too much!

 

 

My Trump ornament keeps telling the other ornaments it's going to help them, while sawing off the branches they depend upon for support. I somehow don't think this is going to end well...

 

 

This ornament called the Baby Jesus an anchor baby then deported his parents Mary and Joseph. It said they looked like Muslims. No wise men to be found anywhere near this ornament.
