How common are stray animals in your country??

Here, it depends. I've lived in some big cities here and I did not see stray animals. But it's different in the countryside, where it's not uncommon to see stray dogs in the streets. A lot of this has to do with the fact that there are people, especially in the poorer areas, who keep their pets outside and don't bother to get them neutered or spayed. As a result, these animals become pregnant and the owners are unable to keep the offspring.

My mother has adopted 3 stray dogs. One of the dogs she adopted, a female, was a few months old, so many people wanted my mother to give it them. She did. However, the family that adopted the dog moved a few months later and they left her behind in the streets. Thankfully, she seemed to remember the way to my mother's home, so she's back with her now.

It's so heartbreaking to see animals suffer yet so rewarding to help them out. They are such grateful animals.

Very common since people don't spay and neuter their pets, and people are horrible pet owners and just ditch them off somewhere when they don't want a pet anymore.

4 of the cats we now take care of were stray cats that started hanging around. 1 of which someone dumped in our neighborhood late at night when she was just a kitten.

In Argentina many, but the local goverment takes care of sterilize them, however they live in the street and are called comunnity dogs ( that's the leggit term), and the neighboards take care of them by feeding and giving them water, they even take them to the vet, but once an stray dog always an stray dog, I know the case of a female dog whom everyone adores and want to adopt her, but once they take her to their homes "adela" wants to go to the streets, she's a sweetheart, is probably the only living creature i'm happy to see near my work area
