All 300+ members from the five groups (AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48) revealed their dream that came true this year on Kouhaku's official site. With that in mind, the viewers will decide who is fit for being on the show through the official app and data broadcasting. The Schedule: First half of December: Kouhaku's official site will put up every member's "Dream That Came True This Year" 12/8: Voting starts on the app "NHK Kouhaku" Mid-December: Intermediate results (Idk if that's the right term) 12/29: The 48 members will be revealed (The ranks will not be revealed at this point) 12/31: The ranking will be revealed during live broadcast. (SOURCE) Edit: Sorry it wasn't "Dream for the Year" but "Dream That Came True This Year (2016)" (UPDATE with reactions from AKB members) Mayuyu: "So there's a possibility we won't make it? Isn't that too cruel" then afterwards "I feel sad that we have to keep fighting/racing until the end of the year but since I wasn't able to become #1 for general elections, I want to be #1 here" Yokoyama: "I'm so shocked that my mind is blank. I'm so scared that even if AKB performs, I won't be on stage. Hearing that I might not be able to perform, I couldn't stop shaking" then afterwards "Since I was 11th for general elections and didn't make it to top 10, I want to do so this time. I didn't say it then, but I'm actually aiming to become 1st" Kojiharu: "Since this is my last Kouhaku in my AKB years, I want people to vote for me as a congratulatory gift. If I don't make it, maybe I'll go on a vacation to Hawaii!" Paruru: (She found out AKB will perform through her fans) "AKB was invited again, thank you to all the fans who let me know as well as NHK who decided to invite us!" and then "Since it seems like the members will be decided by votes, my wish is to put and end to my idol life on this stage" Sashihara: "What?! Kouhaku!!!! I found out through the news. What is going on? I don't want this" Yukirin: "Only 48 members can perform... And they're even gonna rank us... What a surprise at the end of the year (laughs)" "I wish I can perform at Kouhaku as a member of AKB48. Please support me!" Minegishi: "I just found out something surprising about Kouhaku. I guess this means nothing goes without saying. Guest Posted November 24, 2016 Share Posted November 24, 2016 Oh wait, I just saw the list :O Only AKB got invited between 48 groups... meanwhile both Nogizaka and Keyakizaka got invited :O well I can't say I'm 100% surprised, the 46 groups are doing so well (love them <3) kinda sad for other 48 groups but it's expected, at least AKB is still invited. So they'll have an election on who will perform for AKB between all 48 group members? Only 48 of them will make it? so does it mean the winner will be center etc.? this is like an election LOL. Hopefully all my favs make it though :') Mayuyu center please! I wonder if Paruru will be included in the votings, since it'll be her last day as member... So much stress for members on New Year's Eve (and girls who won't make it are gonna be depressed). It is also sad for theater girls, Kohaku was their only major appearance on television. She's the top recognized member among public and the most variety appearances and when casual fans vote, they'll likely just pick the ones they know more. She doesn't like it bc it's just a stressful event for all the girls when they already got an election. That doesn't mean she doesn't want to win or fans aren't going to vote for her tho.
