...she had it coming. but making fun of someone's weight strikes a different chord than making fun of someone's height. both are demeaning and unnecessary, but for some reason fatphobia seems more extreme to me in this case. it seems like a slightly overboard response. both of them are idiots, though.

plus, his twitter is relatively famous so his tweet actually had impact and she probably got a shit ton of hate because of him

(even tho height is something no one can change and weight is, people are still shamed about their weight in a worse way, like it's anybody's business tbh anyway both of these people are ew and should rethink some stuff)

Neither of them were in the right.

1) It was rude, unnecessary and just wrong for her to say what she did

2) He didn't have to be immature and pick on her weight just because of what she said either

Basically both of them need to get off the computer, take a walk and find some maturity.  This was gross to read  :donthinkso:

How so? You can't control your height so I don't see how it's any less demeaning than being made fun of for your weight

She had it coming. Boys are as insecure about their height as girls are insecure about their weight because society's ideal types are thin women and tall men. Why do so many people (usually girls) think that making fun of guys height is not as bad as making fun of girls weight? Because girls won't be offended if someone calls them small, so guys shouldn't be offended too? What hypocrisy.

And the thing is that you can actually do something about your weight (if it's not caused by some kind of trauma or illness), but you can't do anything about your height.

I hope it's not some kind of trauma or illness that caused her to be overweight and he triggered it with his reply, because as tactless as her comment was, his wasn't any better.
