What would you do? Neglectful mother who's a neighborhood of mine doesn't give her kids house keys.

So there's this Dominican single mother that lives on the floor above me. She has 2 kids who are in 6th and 7th grade. This heartless heffa doesn't allow them to have cell phones and she doesn't give them the keys to the apartment!

I just came home from work and both of those kids were sitting on the stairs outside the house for 2 hours and its like 30F in NYC right now. This isn't the first time that this happened. It has been like this for the last week.

Idk what to do, I live on the 1st floor and when they wanna get in they knock on my window. It honestly pisses me off cause I'm not your butler to be opening up doors for you, but this situation is out of control. I told her once that she's a pathetic excuse for a mother because what kind of a person treats her kids like that. I call her by her name and she got all offended that I didn't refer to her as a Ms.

I mean, honestly, there's not much you can do about the situation besides letting her kids stay with you until then. Mothers like that get all defensive when you confront them about their parenting styles. I think you could call CPS and explain the situation (but honestly that opens a whole can of worms that'll be hard to close so only try that worst case scenario).

That's the thing I do not want to get involved but it honestly pisses me off that they keep on knocking on my windows. I work the PM shift sometimes and I get home in the middle of the night and want to sleep, not be bothered and woken up by kids.

Honestly leave a note first; that she should give her kids a spare key so they do not have to sit outside in 30F weather, or else you will call CPS and she can have fun explaining to them why her kids are sitting outside for hours in the cold.

best solutions are sometimes scare tactics
