Wysteria 983 Posted November 22, 2016 Share Posted November 22, 2016 She was supposed to debut in JYP's girl group "6mix" which consisted of her along with Nayoung, Jihyo, Jungyeon and former trainees Cecilia and Lena, but after Lena left debut plans were scratched and JYP decided to make sixteen. She was gorgeous and was supposed to be a main vocal. "] She had a good voice but lacked confidence resulting in her voice slipping up... (I'm not saying she isn't pretty because she is, but I don't think her image fit with the rest. I also think her size had something to do with it. She was easily the most talented main vocalist along with Jiwon and Jihyo, but despite that, her stages were sort of hard to watch because she just seemed so uncertain, like she was taking each moment and waiting to see if she was doing okay, rather than pouring herself into the performance and just letting go and trusting in her skills. Jihyo wasn't as strong as her vocally, but she always looked confident and energetic on stage. And honestly, idols are meant to entertain, so confidence and ability to perform is a must. She did better in Problem, but she still lacked that confidence and energy. Tzuyu, for example, lacked confidence at first, but over time she learned to gain it. Minyoung just didn't. I think Minyoung works better as an artist and soloist than an idol or girl group member. She was super pretty and talented, but I don't think being an entertainer was really for her, she just lacked that X factor that idols need to have. Chaeyoung is so talented, she's one of the most (if not, the) talented members in twice yet no one ever bothers mentioning her. JYP wanted to choose Jihyo after the solo photoshoot and move her up to Major, but the rest of the judges chose Tzuyu even though she had a worse photo and moved Jihyo to minor instead, and they downright said it was because Jihyo was "bigger". I knew she would be winner after that performance. There are some idols who go to college right? last i heard she went back to america (where she's from) for college. almost all the idols currently in college are in korean colleges (with the exception of that one guy from u-kiss who i heard is on hiatus from the group because he's attending an american university). plus, it would be tough and expensive for her to be a trainee and attend an american university at the same time.
