Janet Jackson Breaks Silence on Pregnancy to Tell Fans She’s ‘Doing Well’

Janet Jackson has broken her nearly three months of social media silence.

 

The 50-year-old mom-to-be returned to Twitter for the first time since Aug. 25 — and since confirming her pregnancy last month exclusively to PEOPLE — to thank fans for their support and give a quick update on her health.

 

“Hey you guys.. It’s been awhile.. but I’m still listening,†Jackson wrote on Saturday. “I feel your love and prayers.. Thank you.. and I’m doing well.â€

 

“Al Hamdu lillah,†she concluded, which translates from Arabic to “Praise be to God.â€

Jackson first hinted that she was expecting back in April when she told fans that she was postponing her Unbreakable World Tour because she and husband Wissam Al Mana, 41, were “planning a family.â€

 

“We thank God for our blessing,†the singer said of expecting her first child when confirming the news.

 

Over the last few months, Jackson has kept a low profile and was last spotted shopping for baby buys at London’s Back in Action furniture store in September.

 

“She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well,†a source close to the Jackson family previously told PEOPLE. “She actually feels very good about everything.â€
