How often has a Group won The Fan vote but Lost the Award at MAMA?

I just want to know what to expect for this year. How often does this happen?

it happened in the last three years for dance award, the group who ended 3rd and 4th in voting won in 2015, 2014, 2013.  it happened  for best group in 2014, 2015. It was funny to watch Sones and Blackjacks competing in votes, while Sistar, who were placed 3rd on public vote won best female group in the end.  It happened for best solo artist too. JYP won best artist but he was the last in voting last year or before last. So someone can win even if is last on public vote. All is decided by MAMA behind closed doors ;)

these I remember because I've been watching the last editions of MAMA. And not only for those categories mentioned, but for others too, it happens all the time. Being 1st in voting is not a guarantee for winning. Actually, is more surprising if the group/artist  who's 1st in voting is also the winner than vice versa.

GFriend and 17 were confirmed for MAMA. I'm thinking they will receive the dance award even if they are 5th, respectively 4th on public vote. Artists are invited to receive awards, so the confirmation of attendance is equivalent with the confirmation of an award. Best dance performance is the only category where 17 were nominated, so is pretty clear.

MAMA will start in 12 days and we have only 5 groups confirmed. Anyway, those groups will receive something.

What happened last year?

Big Bang won Best Boy Group dance. Had the sales to back it up, lost to someone else.

Hyukoh Band. But everyone knew they were going to win because they had the sales to back up even though they lost the vote.
