Kanye West 'would’ve voted for Trump' in US elections

Speaking at a concert in San Jose, California, the rapper – who has in the past been a vocal supporter of the Democratic party – said he did not vote last week but if he had, his allegiance would have been with the Republican representative rather than Hillary Clinton.  West’s statement, was met with boos from the audience in San Jose.

West elaborated throughout the show. He stated that while he admired Trump’s debating style – saying that it was “genius†because it “worked†– his true reason for backing the Republican was that his win would inspire racists to reveal themselves. “This is the beginning,†West said, according to one attendee, adding: “Neither candidate would fix racism in this country.†

According to reports from the show, West, who has said he will run for president in 2020, also stated that black people should “stop focusing on racismâ€. “We are in a racist country,†he said. “Period.†

West, no stranger to a provocative statement, also reportedly said he had been a Trump supporter for a while, but was advised by Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, to conceal this opinion ahead of the election.

Privilege works.

He is a very rich man who essentially lives in a bubble. He's been spewing some literal bullshit in the past and people have defended him on the basis of his - undeniable - talents. Some of his fans are putting kpop oppalogists to shame tbh. I guess he doesn't consider Trump unqualified since he considers himself a possible candidate for 2020.

So, am I surprised by this? Nah. He's right. America is a racist country. He's just wrong about almost everything else he's said about it and he's proven that 1. he's either very stupid or entirely cynical 2. he does not really care about what happens to other people.

It's not only racists who are revealing themselves, I guess.

TBH him revealing he was Trump supporter wouldn't have changed anything so I don't know why he was told to conceal it.

Most people don't look at celebrities for their own political stance.

Look at all those celebrities that endorsed Hillary and that did nothing

Kanye West is rich lives in a bubble is married to Kim and is obsessed with her family. Seems like he has been getting advice from Republican Caitlin who is equally against the rights of others. Yes, we are in a racist country but we don't have to accept it. I will and I hope others continue to fight for peoples rights and not just accept bigotry.

People should learn to live with racism because it's not going anywhere and people need to realize that.

You need to stop. If we all thought like this women and blacks would not have the right to vote, own land, get an education or even drink from a water fountain, sit in the front of the bus, or even get food from a restaurant yes blacks were not allowed to eat in restaurants and if they were they were served through the back. Yes, there will always be people who hate others but we don't have to stand for it or accept bigotry. Kanye like Lil Wayne do not bother with the concerns of other people because they have reached a certain level of wealth and success that they do not care for the struggles of others. They are in there own safe bubble. People shouldn't have to learn to live with racism, people should learn to be tolerant others and their differences.

"Being tolerant" isn't being fully embraced so...
