Anyone taken an art class in college?

i need to take a class during the winter and i'm choosing between an anthropology class that's more like a history class (which is something i might enjoy but i'm worried about the writing load because the class is like less than a month long) and an art class, more specifically - drawing. just a basic intro to drawing

i've taken an art history class which i passed but i haven't taken a flat out art class since high school which was...uh LOL....ages ago

i'm worried about how grading works in those classes, what are the tests like? are there tests? homework? etc? my high school art classes were damn easy, all you had to do was show up really and you'd get a good grade as long as you did your work at a decent pace. is it the same in college????????? help

please post your experiences and be as long winded as you want, the more info you give me the better tbh

I did an art high school and I'm studying graphic design now, and I basically only have drawing classes. I don't know what you want know exactly, but I don't like studying, so art classes are the best. I'm quite good at drawing and I can do it while listening to music, so I'd say that's better than anthropology.

I only have to show the teacher all the drawings we had to do during the year at the exam and that's basically it.

I had to take illustration for fashion design which is in the same vein and we quite literally a) showed up in this class b) learned how to stencil out shapes and form them together aesthetically and then c) drew shit and collected the tab

it's a minor course in my program so I don't know if an art class geared more towards that as the focal point would be more intense I mean I can only assume so

I took an intro to drawing class in college and yea it's basically show up, do your work, get an A. We had no tests. Homework was just more drawing. The hardest thing about the class is seeing how much you suck compared to the art majors in the class lol. Weirdest thing was having to sit on tables in the middle of the class with a couple of other students while the rest of the class stared at us and drew us haha.

I actually did it in a non-traditional way, took them online. We were graded on our creativity and how well we applied the techniques we had learned. How I turned my assignments in, I had to either scan them or take photos of them. It wasn't as difficult as it might sound, just not your traditional format. Of course, most of what I was studying was digital art minus one or two classes where I had to deal with physical media. My lectures were more like reading material, no audio but that was a good thing for me considering my hearing loss. I would've been at a disadvantage otherwise.
