I know it's old news now, but EXO's reaction to their Daesang Award...

It really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I just got around to watching the clip and their reaction is really underwhelming. Even if they were expecting it, they could have been more excited. Some members looked downright bored. As an EXO fan, it's disappointing that they weren't happier about such a big win brought to them by their fans. Even when Suho cried, and people all claimed he was faking, I think that was better than leaving a success feeling like they didn't really care about or cherish it.

I dunno. Maybe I'm just butthurt that my faves couldn't. But still...

It wasn't that bad. Either they were speechless or like somebody else said maybe they felt they didn't deserve it.

For all we know they probably cried backstage again.

It's quite possible! These boys are sweethearts as far as I know, so I doubt they weren't grateful. In retrospect, you're right they do seem a bit speechless.

If they cry everytime they win an award people will say, "Shoudn't they be used to it by now. Why do they keep crying? FAKEFAKEFAKE".

And if they don't cry then they aren't appreciative. Basically, they're damned if they do or don't.

Video of Kai crying when they were announced the winner came out later, btw.

What did you want them to do? Jump for joy? They probably wanted to remain humble on front of their 'seniors'. Anyway, after a while of winning awards and pretty much already knowing you're going to win, the novelty dies. Sad but true. I'm not saying winning isn't fun and exciting for them anymore, but they've won so many things already. It can't possibly feel like the first time.

But thing is we don't what happen after that nor do we know how they felt in that moment, we don't know it they weren't happy

I think it's kinda silly to be upset over a reaction (or lack their of)

True, if the would have cried and jumping for joy, People would have said they are rubbing their award in other peoples faces, and that they should be more modest about winning

they knew they got it in the bag, that's why... but Tao looks like a douche.

But I do want to see them cry too, like snsd that one time. ;-; they were so shocked.

I wish they showed more emotions too, but I didn't think Tao looked like a douche.. Is it because he made a heart sign to the fans before the speeches.

But yeah. They seemed very nonchalant about it. Idgaf about awards, but you can't deny that GDA is a big deal- especially the daesang.

& oalfjalf. That fancam of Taeyeon's reaction when they won. Her face was priceless. :stare:

Some people still believe on the principle that an artist must go from the ground up. He/she is saying that it is too soon in EXO's career to be winning a daesang.

I don't understand people saying it's too early

because there has been other idol groups that have won daesangs with in two years of their debut

But to each their own I guess

True. SG Wannabe won their first daesang 1 year after they debuted, so I don't see why this is an issue.

chen looked really overwhelmed and speechless.. pretty much.. i also felt their reaction was pretty calm, at least compared to MAMA.. but then maybe i was just too used to other artists show a great deal of emotion that seeing people trying to stay calm when winning big awards feels weird.. not that it is wrong :)

My only thing was like, who else were they going to give it to. Sure you want to be humble but :/. I think they knew they were going to win.

I'd agree though with what others said, like I was happy for Exo when they won, but I was really eh at the same time.

Looking at others that have won, DBSK, Suju, SNSD - none of them won with their first album... perhaps I didn't feel anything because I don't feel as though they'd worked as hard as those before them. I don't know I'd have to think about it more.
