luxuriouss86 185
I saw alot of video sasaengs stalking idols and I never seen them scream and curse at sasaengs. I never seen them putting their hands on sasaengs for spreading their personal business like what they did or what they're every day, spreading false information about them and giving out their personal information. They just ignore them and pretend that the sasaengs are not there. I seen jaejoong cursing at sasaengs.

dmn 2,622
why would the want to lash out at their income? The sasaengs don't actually give the artists any income. Whatever money that sasaeng fans contribute with are eaten up by all the additional costs for security/management that the sasaengs cause.

Athena 21,718
You people need to realize that most saesangs aren't rich as you claim. They do not provide idol incomes. I watched a documentary on it. They are bascially mini-cults. In each saesang group there is a leader. Each of the members supply money from prostituting, working in cell phone companies (where they trace their idols' numbers),etc and give it to the leader who provides you with food and shelter. "Saesanging" is a full-time job, so many drop out of school just to do it. It's also a competition to see how close you can get to an idol. They have hierarchies and all that shit. The reasons idols won't do anything about them is because saesangs know their dirt, know everything about them, and blackmail them basically. Nini Bear 3,530
Not only blackmail ^, they usually get a lot of shit for doing something about it too. I remember the drama when Jaejoong (?) stood up for himself...

Moon Jellyfish 23,232
Some have stood up for themselves in different ways, but obviously, nothing has really changed. I suppose though, maybe some don't fight back because sasaengs have information on their biases that their biases don't want to get out.
Darius 8,485
There are several reasons - 1) Kpop is a niche genre in Korea and while the public do listen to/download some Kpop, it's relatively cheap and not that profitable. Nowadays there is a much higher supply than demand, so idols cherish whatever fans/popularity they do have at all costs. 2) Sasaengs gather dirt on their faves and "shield" them from outside forces until they feel betrayed (which could be through lashing out/bashing them or getting into a damaging scandal). at which point they release the dirt and the idol's career is effectively over. Some take it a step further and try to blackmail idols too. They basically hold a grip over idols which is why many sasaengs flock to rookies easily. It's like a game to them and getting a grip over rookies is much much easier than say a veteran idol. And while sasaengs may not be responsible for a large part of an idols' income, lashing out against "fans" is still very frowned upon and will never end well. Idols are expected to be the better person and stand above that type of behavior..
Ringo 4,146
Blackmail, Korean culture, no involvement by police or other authority figures, lack of change even when the members speak up about it (Hee Chul, Tao, Jae Joong, Yoo Chun, to name a few), because many are female and minors... It's a misguided notion that the reason idols do nothing is because those girls spend lots of money support them. Sure there are some rich daughters who like idols, but basically it all boils down to an unwillingness or inability to do anything about it. KimOppa 1,959
Have you not seen what JYJ did? Or managers of SM groups? They forced pushing, yelling, hitting but no matter what, these Sasaengs would feel honored ! It's not only teens who would do such a thing, but women on their 20s, 30s or even 40s .... Creepy as hell! One would think these people are at the age to be mature and all but nope! And they might know many things BUT 90% of the things they spread are pure BS and only made-up from their delusion! Cutting +100 Sasaengs won't hurt, they are not the ones who spend money on idols, they spend it on stalking idols instead, paying taxi drivers etc. So when I say companies need to sue their ass, I mean it! But then again there is literally nothing that police would do which makes me amazed bcuz companies sue anons who spread BS about idols online yet fail to report these crazy people who harass the idols daily !! SMH Yeah, the theory is that if they can get some kind of a reaction out of them, they'll at least be remembered. It's like middle-child syndrome taken to the nth degree (attention is attention, doesn't matter if it's negative). Some of the worst offenders should be in therapy and on medication. But, you know, that would reflect badly on the family, so that won't happen. They need to pass strict anti-stalking laws and then enforce them. But that's not going to happen either (and if it miraculously does, they'll include some ridiculous loophole that basically makes enforcement/punishment a joke, so nothing actually changes). SMH lol what. The people making up malicious rumours online cause economic damage to the artists and their companies, because it will hurt CF deals, drama roles, music sales etc etc. Therefore, the artists/companies will report and sue the people behind such actions. The sasaengs are just a big fucking pain in the butt, they don't actually cause any economic damage that the artist/company can sue them for. They can report this illegal stalking to the police and a court could eventual hand out some restraining order and eventually in the future send someone to jail for repeated offences... But seriously, in reality it is very difficult to actually do anything about this problem.
